Recently, I started a discussion on Hand Cream and ladies, you all helped my hands tremendously. I want to thank you all for the tips there. So for the next couple of discussions, I'm going to turn to you for my other beauty needs.
I'm addicted to makeup, bath, and beauty products, that's no secret. One of my favorite beauty items are lip balms and glosses.
So what I want to know is what are some of your favorites? Do they help your lips stay away from being dry and cracked. I do routine maitenance to make sure my lips are always kissable and here are a few of my favorites:
CO Bigelow- My Favorite Lip Balm and Sugar Lip Buffer. Yum! The balm works wonders overnight. I love it and it smells good.
Mac Lipglass, Smashbox Lipgloss, and Avon Glazewear Gloss, all are amazing.
So what are your lip secrets and why?
Thanks for coming by.

Hello, my darling girly girl! I'm a girly girl too, die-hard. I love makeup and potions for my face, but I don't get too much into the body products. I mostly just use Yardley Oatmeal Soap in the shower, and for shaving my legs, I use hair conditioner. It works great! And my legs are so soft too, after I do it. Try it and see how you like it.
I don't use glosses as a rule, but I do use Loreal Infallible lipstick, a two-step process, with color first and then gloss to set it. It lasts a long, long time and stays pretty. I also really like the Maybelline 2 step process lipstick, I can't think of what it's called but it's very nice, doesn't ball up on your lips or feel gritty, like some of them do. And you can re-apply the gloss for either the Loreal or the Maybelline anytime you want, to get the shine back.
What I'd like to find is a shadow that actually stays on my eyes and doesn't fade away. Even Chanel wears off! I've tried the cheapest and the most expensive and none of them are up to the task. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Have you tried putting a moisturizer or foundation on your eyes before adding the shadow maybe even a eye serum? It makes the shadow stick better. I love Avon shadows they always does a good job for me and stay on longer then the others I have tried and I have tried alot.

The moisturizer doesn't make the shadow crease? I'll try it, mtdewgurl, absolutely, thank you. I use some Avon shadows too and I like them fairly well. But still, I haven't yet found an eyeshadow that really, really stays on. And believe me, darlin, I've been wearing makeup since I was 14 and I'll be 54 in July, so that's a very long time and a lot of shadows that I've tried. But I'll try your suggestion today, in just a short while, as a matter of fact, and I'll let you know how it worked. Maybe I'll even wear some Avon shadow too. And thanks, so much, for being so sweet in answering my question. You're a doll.

Not bad, Skinny, I never thought of using a concealer for that, but I'm going to. Tomorrow. I use Lancome moisturizers and eye creams and all the other face stuff, including foundation. I have a few of their shadows, and you know, you're right, they do stay pretty well. The thing is, I need some other shades - the ones I have are a bit too light. They came as a gift with purchase, and they aren't exactly what I would have selected if I had been buying them separately. I'm gonna go to ebay and see what they've got. I kind of like a dramatic look, so I don't want terribly light colors. Plus, I can't have any shimmer - highlights wrinkles, yup, sure does. You can still wear shimmer though, for several more years, darling. I'd say to stop at about 40ish - see how it goes. Anyway, thanks for the ideas!

I have watched make-up artist on television take vaseline and put on the lips then after a few moments take a soft bristled tooth brush and gently move in a circular motion to help expoliate the lips and it also plumps them some but it helps keep the moisture in so they won't appear dry or chapped but fresh and lusious. They do this for actresses all the time. I am a Avon Glazewear lip gloss and lip sticks fan and it smells so good. The ones I have smell like white chocolate. I also use Cover Girls Wetslicks crystal lip gloss and IsaDora lip gloss that works awesome as well.

I wish they made flavored vaseline..lol like vanilla or something it not the nicest smelling stuff to use, If it was scented atleast it would be better to use. My mom is a magazine addict she can't walk by one without buying it and then she reads them and gives them to me. So in most the magazines they have alot of tips and I also watch the show called Look Alike where they take ordinary people and make them over to look like a celebrity they favor. He explains everything as he does it and I get tips off that also.

I love those too. I have never tried any of the Isadora cosmetics though. People seem to like those.
Great tip about the Vaseline. I have never heard that, I will have to give it a try. Thanks for the response, hun.

I'm also addicted to lip balms, but I still have to find one that's really good. Some taste awful or feel gross on your lips ( like they're "too greesy").
Your description of CO Bigelow seems promossing. I will search for that one, thanks!

I use my tongue.
It doesn't leave a gloss, but then I don't want to glow in the dark either! LOL
