I sell my handmade jewelry on Etsy. Half of my profits goes to support my project for charity. Please check it out!

I do! I started making jewelry to give as presents to my nieces a few years ago for their birthdays and Christmas. Then their mothers (my sister-inlaws) started asking me if they could make something in a certain color... Fast forward to last year and my supervisor at work handed me an article she took from her Sunday paper. The article was about Etsy.com, a place where handmade items can be bought...and sold.
Now, along with my full-time a week job, I have a part-time online jewelry store and I'm slowly climbing my way to my 100th sale. I do craft shows, home shows, etc.
It is hard to do with children and my hubby and the boys have been very supportive. Our sons have been very, very good about it and understand that when mommy is at her craft table, they don't disturb her... at least not too much: )
After a hard day at work, I find it theraputic to sit and make jewelry ( and to sit on the couch and knit). I don't think I've worn a commercial piece of jewelry in the last 8 months... now I only wear my creations.

I always do, even before. And I make profit out of it. I sell them to my friends. But due to studies, I have to stop the business. But now I graduated, I want to do it again and this time, online.

I do. They make great presents for my nieces. I started about 4 or 5 years ago. I am disabled so I have plenty of time for doing them. I enjoy it, too. It can be tough to do at first. It takes time and patience to get quick at it. I can now whip out a necklace, bracelet/anklet and earrings in about an hour. The easiest way is to plan it out on a bead board then string them. If you are wire-wrapping it takes a long to get consistent with it. I started off using cheap materials until I got the hang of it.
I want to take my 12 year old daughter to Herkimer, NY to dig up Herkimer diamonds. When we get back I plan on wire-wrapping some of them into earrings and necklaces if we do well on our digs. Or maybe see if they have the facilities to drill them for me. I think it will be neat to pull something out of the ground and make it myself.

My sister is disabled and has lots of free time to make her own jewelery. She makes some beautiful "one of a kind" items. I haven't made any myself from beads--I've only made the "friendship" type bracelets that you braid. I have taken my sister shopping to the craft store and was amazed at the selection of beads you can buy now. My local craft store even sells sterling silver and gold plated links and charms.
