I want to use this topic to learn why people believe in god, did your parents go to church and took you witht hem and you continued to go? Do you fear retribution for not believing in good? Do you believe anyone who doesn't believe in god is doomed to go to hell? Do you believ in divine justice? Waht are the reasons you use to defend your religions whe you are debating it against other religions? do you believe your religion is in a war (good vs bad) against anything outside it?

Above all I am a peaceful person. I like to think I am a Christian but I am not happy with some situations/theories around Catholic Christianity (where I have been baptized).
The Bible, although containing many good words that everyone can learn from, like all religious books from the older religions, was written by man and is interpreted by man as well. We all know that men aren't perfect and if the people writing the book aren't perfect you can't expect the book to be it either. Nevertheless, we can retain the ideal of the religions from their books.
From the little I know about all major religions in the world they all have one thing in common where they were build upon, peace. Spreading knowledge through peaceful actions. In Christianity the fundamental ideas come from Jesus Christ and not the Popes supporting the Crusades.
We can see bad example concerning religion throughout history and more still arrive everyday. One thing I can't stand is the expression "Holy War" that we all know from the Crusades but that was being used less than a decade ago by other religions There is no such thing as a "Holy War". "Holy", for me, stands for something Utopic that man can not achieve and war is something that man can achieve more easily than peace. Lets call it "Holy Peace" when we have one. :)
Of course we have people that interpret the religious books in a different way. The problem comes from the fact that all religious books are very elaborate, almost like a poem. They try to pass on a fact in a fairy tale ornamented point of view. This causes too many interpretations, some are good and some are evil. This is why religions need a person to teach everybody what their teachings mean, because if one was to read them by himself with no explanation they would miss interpret them.
Answering more directly at the questions. My parents took me to church and I thank them for that as it helped me growing as a human being. I believe in a superior entity, even Einstein did, as many things remain unexplained and some that were explained I can't say the bases for those explanations are totally logic. If there is hell, it must be here, I really can't imagine a worst place to be. "Thank God there is still good people!"
There is no such thing as a good vs bad war in religion as religions support peace and try to pass on ideas and ideals on how to achieve them. What we have is bad people that bring war on each others and on us all.

How many laws does your country have?
How many laws does your country have to complement the laws your country has?
Even nowadays, laws that take years to be written and approved come out for a specific purpose and different layers/judges will have different interpretations considering time/place/context.
I hear all the time that there is no such thing as 2 human beings alike. Even identical twins have different personalities.
You can't expect to start a subjective topic as one relating to peoples beliefs in God and get scientific proof from an ordinary person as an answer. Several people are doing it for centuries and they still haven't succeeded.
"Would it be possible that the bible has been interpreted in a different way than it was supposed to be? What if it was just of legends?"
That's a pretty big if? Can you tell me where to gather specific information to answer you?
What if it wasn't? I'm not God. I don't know everything I want/need.
"On the other hand I don't believe in god or hell, at least as it is explained nowadays."
What I understand is that you do believe, in your own way. A way that is different from current religious idealized images/ideas. Welcome to the group.
"He (Einstein) said many times he didn't believe in a personnal god, even nowadays new evidence shows he didn't."
Did he believe in a generic God?
Einstein said:
"God is cunning but He is not malicious."
"God is subtle but he is not bloody-minded."
"God is slick, but he ain't mean."
"I want to know how God created the World. (...) I want to know His thoughts, the rest are details."
"I cannot conceive of a personal God who would directly influence the actions of individuals, (...) My religiosity consists in a humble admiration of the infinitely superior spirit that itself in the little that we, with our weak and transitory understanding, can comprehend of reality."
As it looks to me Einstein believed in God, just not in the tradition way.
"He had a different way of looking at the picture!"

You said and i quote "This causes too many interpretations" does this mean you agree that the bible can have a different meanning?
"this is why religions need a person to teach everybody what their teachings mean, because if one was to read them by himself with no explanation they would miss interpret them"
Would it be possible that the bible has been interpreted in a different way than it was suposed to be? What if it was a just a bunch of legends?, old beliefs? we have alot of books written at the time who talk about one eye creatures and all other kind of myths, is it possible the bible is actually just another one?
"If there is hell this must be it."
Do you believe we live in hell? I can agree that it is far from perfect but i wound't call it hell. On the other hand i don't believe in god or hell, at least as it is explainned nowadays.
(...)even Einstein did(...)
He said many times he didn't believe in a personnal god, even nowadays new evidences shows he didn't. (last week a new paper was found)

No my parents did not took us to church, they send us to church. This was good, for although they were not a regular churchgoer they see to it that their children go to church. Well the bible says to each there own. Yes I believe in divine justice. The bible says that we will be judgment according to our works. I do not defend my religion. Ever religion to me is serving the same God. As long as a person believe that there is a God and he send his son to die on calvary cross for sinners then why should I defend. Well if you are serving the truth and living God you will be in a war. The bible says we find against prinicipalities. Principalities to me is things that are evil and bad.

I'm not answering transcripts from the bible, it is a book who is usuless as it is, i dunno what kind/type or what translation you have, i have read the bible in lattin and the parts that were taken away from it, and to tell you the truth if you add it all together the "son of god" doesn't even look like his son, just a regular prophet, as well as another one which actually has more relevance to the history the jesus. Do you belive in the pope? he just added some capital sins, what do you say about that? you believe in god and follow the pope's will? i have to say that even after i reaserched alot about the bible i didn't hear anything about the pope, do christians follow god or do they follow the pope? who is the pope to add capital sins?
