Oops...the whole story didn't come through as I guess it was too long...so I take it from where it left off There and Back Again: A Rabbit's Tale was my very first short story ever published back in 2005..it appeared in the Summer 2005 issue of Minas Tirith Evening Star, The Journal of The American Tolkien Society and was published under the title "Journey to Moria" My links didn't seem to work to The Virtual Studio for my other story for some reason when I posted my other story, but this link at least gives a listing of the back issues of Minas Tirith and shows all the issues that also has a number of my stories with the publication http://www.americantolkiensociety.org/backissues.htm This link provides an area, if you scroll down for a download of the summer 2006 issue which also has another story of mine http://www.americantolkiensociety.org/MTES.htm ©Melanie Neer {Continuation of story from discussion Part One that is here--uh sorry about that! http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1542874.aspx ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part Two: Even from where I stood from across the lake, I could sense the two-leggeds mood of elation, for clearly, this was what they had been searching for. For quite awhile though, it seemed as if nothing was happening; they all remained standing there watching the wizard with his raised staff. I could hear echoes of his voice, saying several different words, that didn't make much sense to me. Still.....nothing happened. Then, after a fair amount of time had passed, I heard the wizard's voice say in a clear loud voice one single word, and suddenly from where I was I could feel the ground tremble underneath me. Oh, my! The cliff was actually opening up as though it were a door! Oh, how I was just itching to follow them! I was all set to make a fast scampering around the lake to where they were, when a horror of horrors took place! I saw a pale-green snake-like arm bolt out from the lake seizing and grabbing the ankle of one of those short two-leggeds. More and more of those long arms came shooting out from the water. While the attention of the two-leggeds were fixed upon rescuing this poor victim, I saw the pony make a fast dash with lightening speed away from this gruesome terror. He was fast approaching to where I was, yet he had apparently saw me, for he began slowing down slightly. The pony yelled out to me, "hop on," of which I did. Once settled safely upon the pony's back, he picked up speed once more and ran as if his life depended on it. Whatever fate was to occur to those two-leggeds I would never find out, and quite frankly, I didn't want to know. At that moment, all I wanted was to get away as far and as fast as possible from that lake. I wanted to be back in the safety of my own home, and in the company of my sweetheart, Daisy. As I clung onto the pony's back, I lifted my head up a bit and saw a bright, twinkling star in the black sky. I made a solemn vow upon that star......that never, ever would I have anymore adventures. ~~~~~The End~~~~~ Discussion Questions: Many authors have written books from the viewpoint of an animal, such as Black Beautry. Have you ever decided or considered writing a story from the viewpoint of an animal? Have you ever thought of writing a story based on another literary work, movie or character, such as Lord of The Rings, Star Wars, maybe even Harry Potter? Did you ever make an attempt to write in the style of a famous author? Which one?

ahhhhhhh.....Like with Lightning, Tigger and I talk thru our minds and we understand each other. He's sad that he can no longer be with his mom or siblings and that he was thrown around for, what he understands, being a kitten before he was rescued. He cried alot when Lightning passed away as well. I become Tigger when I tell his story, literally. Maybe I am a writer that just hasn't had a reason to surface till now. -sighs- If you can find that discussion of yours from Pyewacket that Tigger told his story in, send it to me and I'll see...k?

You do such great stories about Tigger though...like you really get inside his head...you really should think about writing it all down from his point of view

I'll try to look through my discussions but tomorrow ...they're the ones that Pyewacket started, right?? But you really should consider writing them out

Hi pyewacket! I have tried writing short stories before but never really had finished any. I always have a difficult time putting an ending for I always have many ideas on how the ending will be and I end up changing endings all the time. haha..Never had any published short stories, only a few poems. And if ever, I will really do some serious writing, I think I hope to have that excellent flare in writing as the famous Melanie Neer. Take Care and Have a Nice Day! God bless!

yes I have a short story from the view point of my cat Seti, which will come up sooner or later in my collection of story, I started my third book which is the sequel to Angels Watching Over Me, but for a 4th book if I get that far, I was thinking of a historical story in the vain of animal farm - George Orwell

I actually have about five novels...one novel idea is definitely put in the back burner...a fictionalized story of my ancestors that I go back to 1710 up to the Civil War period..even made up a complete genealogy thing for the "family"---then another novel idea based on a short story..that's on the back burner. Then a sci-fi type story...don't ask how long I started that idea...then yet again another story plus the one I'm working on now---my main problem is finding the time to write them, since I do spend a lot of time writing articles..but I do try to devote time now every night to writing my novel..seem to write better late at night for my fiction for some reason

Oops! No to all of your questions. I do have a few stories I have started to write from the viewpoint of a couple of fairies and a nymph, but the keyword here is STARTED! I have only finished one, and it is a very short short story. Hehehe. I admire that you are able to keep on writing till the story is told!
