Usually our elders choose our names for us. Sometimes they like some names very much and sometimes they choose the name after influencing from particular prsonality.

I was named Stephanie after my birth mother's best friend in college - she doesn't even talk to her anymore. American names don't usually mean much!

My mum chose my name I think, because my nanna thought she was taking too long choosing a name and suggested Lisa-Marie but my Mum didn't like that, but it might have been my grandad who suggested my name, I really can't remember, my partners little brother was named by his big brother.

I believe that it was my uncle who chose the names for both my sister and I. He chose a name for me that has the meaning of 'money' (Which is probably what most people want)contained in the writing of my name. Although, I didn't get that name. Somehow it was mistyped in the computer when they were making my passport. So, I guess you might say my name is 'computer-generated'? :)

I thank you for your response. Yeah, well very true that money has taken an enormous place in all the hearts. So it's partially a computer generated this way. Smile.
