Does Anyone Make Money on Ebay?

I've been an ebayer since I was about 12. Always buying and selling things. I love it and I log it at least 3-4 times a day.. if not for any other reason than to browse around, even if I don't want to buy or waste money. What I really want to know is it if it is really true that some people support themselves just by ebaying? What are they selling? How are they getting these items at such a low cost to be sure that they will cover all the cost, the listing fees, the actual cost of the items and whatnot. I myself have found a website that I can buy name brand cloths and jewelry for about 1/5 of the auctual cost of the item, but when its all said and done I only make alittle bit of money, nothing to support myself on or anything else. So someone out there, please tell me the trick or something to whats really going on.

I was under the impression you had to be over 18 to operate an eBay account in your name. I have been a member of eBay for five years and have never made enough to earn a living.

I'm lucky that my mom was trusting and let me start an account with her credit card and buy things and sell things by myself.

Hi, I'm planning to start a business on eBay. Could you tell me the site you use to buy cheap things? How to start an eBay merchant account? How much is the fees? I'm sorry if I ask too many questions. Thanks in advance and I hope to hear from you soon.

The site I use I'd rather not give out because I have to use the company I work for FIN, which my boss doesn't care. Just become an ebay member and they will show you step by step on how to sell on there. Its actually really simple. I was just not sure on how to actually make money off of ebay.

It is hard to make a profit with Ebay since their fees keep going up. I used to do a lot of selling but not so much anymore unless I find a collectible item that I know will probably sell for a good price. Otherwise, it isn't worth my time. I think one would have to have a high volume of sales to really make it a profitable endeavor. It's kinda fun, though, to list stuff I pick up at rummage sales or auctions for a little bit of nothing and sell it for big bucks!

My boyfriend's mom sells on ebay and she makes a profit at it. I'm not sure how much of a profit but she isnt trying to live off what she makes on ebay. I've tried selling on ebay and I'm sure its because I'm new to ebay so have 0 feedback but I've not been able to sell the few items ive listed on ebay. I did find it to be annoying how they jump the fees up all the time.

I've also heard of someone (a relative of a friend) who makes their full-time living on eBay, having purchased two houses, etc., with their eBay earnings. Reportedly, the relative sells antiques purchased at garage sales, antique stores, etc. Part of the challenge is either finding "big ticket" items that you can sell a few of and rake in a great profit, or finding a large amount of "small ticket" items that you can sell a lot of... and collectively rake in a great profit.
