At one time I owned seven guitars! :)
I love the instrument and it's always a fun time when I can get to play and sing! :)
Fender is my brand of choice for electric guitars, but for acoustic it's Martin... I see that you are from India, and they make several good copies of these fine instruments there, I hope that you find one that is just right for you! :)
Here's some fun musical lessons from my blog:)

I am a guitarist only at home, I have my own guitar before long, a classical one.
guitar is not easy to have a performance well, but the sound is very good, specially at deep night, do more exercises is nesessary, go ahead, listen to your own music.

Hi viking_srk ! I wouldn't call myself a guitarist but I've been playing for around 7 years. I've got a Stag electro aucostic. if you're gonna buy one (assuming you've been learning on an entry level guitar) a good pricepoint to start at is £300-£400. this should get you a reasonably well made guitar. As for which type/make thats up to you! but spend a lot of time choosing, so talk to the shop owner, explain what price bracket your aiming for, and ask him to show you what he/she thinks are the best 5 guitars in your price range, and play on them for a good few hours( a good store owner won't mind). A guitar is an individual choice, so what works for one person might not work/feel right to you! happy guitar hunting!

I own several guitars. My favorite is my Takamine acoustic electric and I also like my Seagulls, I have 2 of them, a six string and a 12 string. They are handmade in Canada from cedar. You might want to check them out in the net. I also have an Ovation acoustic electric which sounds great but I don't like the rounded body for sitting down playing because even with a strap they tend to roll. They are great if standing though. If you're thinking electric avoid the locking nuts they are a pain in the....rear..lol I have a Fender Squire and I love it.

I guess I do or did. Don't ask me where it is now.
I did learn some guitar playing last time while I was still in school but I was quite bad at it.
My forte just does not lie there and I am better at e.g. singing.

I won a Givson (dunno if its the correct spelling for the original brand), and its good. I bought it 2 years ago and I've been trying to play it, and I can still play the strings. I Think I have to spend some more time on it and get to learn it. I bought it for 2500 and I think it's cost has come down.

I am a guitarist. I also know how to play piano and drum ^_^ Hmm I got an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar. For the acoustic guitar, mine is TGM and for the electric is Fender Strat ^_^ For acoustic, i dunno much but if you planning to buy electric, I recommend Fender or Gibson. And buy a decent amp if you can. No matter how good your guitar is, if your amp sucks then the sound sucks too. Like Michael said, performing live with a guitar is hard. I am always afraid of my guitar strings snapping during live performances.. =.= I wonder how do the bands perform in live..

I own two acoustic guitars. One has nylon strings and the other steel. They are not Fender or Gibson. They are just regular guitars.
