Comfort

Is there a particular food, routine, or item that brings you comfort?
Whenever I feel icky, I always get a shower. Clean and some alone time always makes me feel better.
I'm having a hard time "learning" how to relax though so I'd love some other comfort ideas.

I like to listen to soft music when I'm soaking in the tub. that relaxes me.

Soft music and tubbing is a good answer. Seems like that may just be where I spend the rest of my life LOL

Travelling can be nice. Do you bike ride or drive?

:-) I'm talking more about things to do or items to eat or blankets to cuddle. Physical actions, behaviors or items that an help. Thanks for the input though.

When I don't feel well, french-fries or just about any other potaato product makes me feel better; I guess you'd call it my comfort food.
When I'm feeling stressed, some time alone with a book or movie seems to help... I think it's mostly the time alone.
And there's always a nap:-)

Well I do the typical things, I like to take a long hot bath, go for a walk, play with my dogs, listen to music BUT the thing that relaxes me and calms me the most is doing a bible study and listening to Christian worship music. It helps me get in touch with what God wants for me and helps me to connect with myself :)

If my husband can take the baby out for awhile, I love to lay in bed with a cup of hot chocolate and a cozy blanket and watch a movie in peace and quiet. My 23 year old cat usually snuggles up with me too. This always de-stresses me.

I think I'd be a lot closer to de-stressing if I could just accomplish that first part "If my husband can take the baby for a while". and then get my tushie away.

A special acitvity that makes you feel unique and reminds you of times gone by. Hmm, I have some vinyl but I think maybe something crafting would accomplish the same type things.

I hop in the shower, put my PJ's on and roll around with my kids to wear them out so they'll get their last wiggles out so they can sleep soundly!

My kiddo sleeping soundly does indeed help me to relax. Every peep from him and I'm wide awake and wound up!

Whenever I'm feeling down, I take a nice, long, hot bath. It helps me relax and takes my mind off whatever it is that is bothering me.

when i'm feeling down and out, i will turn to playing PC games or PS2 games. you will forgot everything and just concentrate on going through all the levels. Or maybe just driving around, listening to some sentimental music will help. At times, i would get together with a few close friends for coffee, that would be nice and cheers me up!

While I too get immersed in video games, it doesn't seem to actually relieve any of the tension. I just put it onhold for a while.
Maybe I should start looking for some songs to help me relax.

Wouldn't curry upset your tummy if you are already stressed?

What brings me the most comfort is drumming and chanting prayer and dancing...
To many interrupted me and complain or just will not leave me alone eventually I give up... I also find chatting comforting but I can't get into the rooms on meebo.com and I never get to be home...
talking to people is comforting to me..

Interesting. I guess social interaction could provide a version of comfort. I do that so much though, to me it is relaxing to get AWAY from it.

It's hard to get alone tiem when you have a two-year-old. Maybe I can arrange some with my hubby some time soon.

Thanks. I need to go through my music collection to try to find some soft music to put with that scene at my house. Everything else I have already.

Bubble bath sounds good. Think I'll go take my 2-year-old and relax for a while after I finish responding to my commenters. :-) Thanks.

I love Coke but I can't have caffeine anymore. Did it yesterday even though I wasn't supposed to and I almost wasn't able to go to sleep last night.
Clean crisp sheets is a good idea. I need to change sheets more often I think.

Actually that's a great idea. I like to turn on the radio and sing or bop to it. Unfortunately right now my sinuses are so bad I won't dare do it outside my house.
