TV shows being cancelled: your opinion?

Personally I find it very frustrating when a TV series is cancelled halfway through the story. I always want to know how it ends.
Recently they started airing Threshold in the Netherlands and even though it isn't too great, it was nice to watch. But then I found out the series got cancelled after 13 episodes! That's so annoying.
And the I got into Jericho, I really liked that series. Even though they sort of gave it an ending, it's still a pity it got cancelled. I really hope that one will return.
Did you also watch Threshold or Jericho? Or are there other shows that got cancelled, which frustrates you?

I watched both of those shows and echo your disappointment. They were both really good shows that didn't deserve to be cancelled. It seems like whenever I really love a show, it gets cancelled midstory. I really loved The Women's Murder Club and just heard that it is not being renewed for next year. I think that is the wrong decision. It is a real quality show and doesn't deserve cancellation.

A, I meant that they're airing the American police/murder invastigation series. Like all the CSI's, NCIS, murder invastigation, Bones, numb3rs, stand-off, and a bunch of shows I forgot the name of.
I like Bones, that one is a bit different with more humour in it.

Oh my goodness, tell me about it! It seems that all my favorite shows have been canceled prematurely, most notably Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Veronica Mars and Jericho. At least with Buffy and Angel, the series finales were somewhat satisfying and provided a little bit of closure. But I can't say the same with Firefly and Veronica Mars. I can't stand it when the network just axes a show, leaving the audience with a gaping storyline and opened finale. With Firefly, the network didn't even give the show a respectable ending - basically, the final episode was just another regular episode. With Veronica Mars, the finale still left so many questions unanswered, imo. And at least with Firefly, the legion of fans sending in peanuts was enough to revive the series for another seven episodes, allowing for a satisfying, albeit very rushed, conclusion to the series.
I wish networks would listen more to fan forums or message boards to realize that a show has a genuine and large following, rather than relying on the Nielsen Ratings, what I personally see as an unreliable system of judging how many viewers a show gets.

Yes, I used to watch Jericho and I was glad that they, at least, gave it a second season. That was unlike Journeyman where they just basically threw everything together at the end and it wound up to be a big mess. I wish they would at least commit to a whole season before they just cut down the show.

I agree. There's always someone out there that enjoys a particluar show, and it sucks when that show is cancelled. I think TV networks should at least have the remaning episodes available for those people who liked the series, watchable on their website or something. x]

Luckily I didn't start watching any of the shows that got cancelled. The only shows I really really like are House, Law and Order SVU and ER. I am sad that next season will be the last season of ER.

I get frustrated too. Especially when they aren't really wrapped up. I was upset when they cancelled Invasion. I thought it was a pretty decent show. The 4400 was overdue, sadly. It started out great and then as the years when on it lost me and several other people obviously. And the show Popular back in 2001. The ending wasn't solved.
