Did you ever drown or come close to drowning?

During the past few years i have had really nice and bad experiences. By house is just by the sea shore and most of the time i spend fishing, swimming with my friends, or snorkling. I have come face to face with deadly sharks and have nearly been drown by a huge octopus. Another time i was sucked in to a whirlpool and came out a minute later barely alive. After a day in hospital i revived. did you ever come close to drowning. If you did how did it happen. Are you scared of the sea and vast ocean?
