I'm wondering, with all the prices of gas going up, and up, and yet up again. Is this going to kill our economy?
We just moved out here to AZ. Luckily we got here just in time. We first got here not even a month ago. $3.45 for gas was the price. Now about 3 weeks later. $4.25? Are they kidding? I'm out here trying to find a job. It's a pain the gas is killing the distance I can go for a job.
I was told today that it will be going up to 6 bucks a gallon. I haven't had time to look at the news lately but is this right? How can anyone afford to have a job getting paid 7 to 8 bucks an hour if the gas is going to be 6 bucks a gallon. Let alone 4.
Let me know what you think. Is this actually going to kill our economy?

Hi I know exactly where you are coming from on this. Here in the UK the lorry drivers have done blockades in protest as the price of fuel is affecting the price of everything which yes affects the economy. I have a diesel car and when I bought it last year diesel was less than a pound a litre it is now at £1.30 per litre which is ridiculous. I walk wherever I can and as I live in a coastal town where the parking prices are also very high I tend to walk down and bus back, however I do need to use the car for the weekly shop and for long distance. It's getting crazy everywhere. Luckily for us we do live close to stores and such. At least for now.
I feel for anyone that has to live in the country side that don't have a lot of money. With these prices rising. Work just may become a rare thing.
Thanks Ellie.

I know what you mean!
I do cleaning. I work about an hour away from my home.
I set my own pay, However, I am afraid if I raise my prices, people will find someone else closer to clean for less and I will lose my jobs.
I don't know what to do either.

Yea, that is the hard part. The more we have to spend on gas the more we have to charge to do work.
Anything long distance may wind up hurting us all in the long run.
When I lived in California, Everyone had to commute. Live 50 or 60 miles from your job just to be able to afford a place to live.
With the prices going up on gas. I'm wondering if anyone is going to be able to commute.
Makes it hard to work that way.

The gas price may hurt our economy.Keep in mind though if the prices went with inflation we would be paying a lot more than we do now. Unfortunately, unless the gas companies do something we are up the creek without a paddle.

Yes a very scary thought. I'm not sure what we would do. I guess I need to invest in a really cool bike or something. lol. I don't want to have to ride that in the rain though.

Yes, I feel the gas prices will kill our economy. With the rise in gas prices comes the rise in price of goods. This will continue to rise and the wages I feel would stay the same so soon it will be do I pay the rent, so I can live, pay the gas, so I can go to work to pay the rent, or buy the groceries, so I can eat to sustain work so I can by the gas to get to work so I can pay the rent so I can live and sleep and shower to get to work. What a vicious cycle we live in.

Lol I totally agree with what your saying here. lol
Well put. But aren't we already doing that? I'm wondering if the rent or even the work will continue. The way it's looking to me, is people are not going to be able to commute like most of us have been doing for years.
Either you have to pay more to live near your work, or you need to find another job that is closer to you. If there is one. As this continues to rise. Are we even going to be abe to work to pay the gas or even rent since that got jacked up much higher as well. Food? For a family of 5? On 8 bucks and hour?
I think many will be going hungry just to go to work.
Or is it still possible? Big question?

thanks for your information.
Now, in China, the gas is sold at about 3.9 per gallon, a little cheaper than yours, but we earn much more, fortunately we don't have so many cars, and we are used to commute by bus.
Still ,the rise in gas price has driven all the price up. the life is tough in China, much more tough than yours.
have a good day.

I'm sure it is tough out there, In many ways. Out here? You can see TV a lot. I most cases its all fake. You have the rich getting richer while the poor are struggling more and more. With the rise of gas prices, it will even make more of the homeless and struggling families struggle even harder to try even have a place to live. Most jobs do not pay enough to drive an hour or 2 away. Even then a half an hour is pushing it. Finding work to walk to or take a bus. You'll be lucky to even get hired. If your rich in America your living good. If you actually have to work for living. You are most likely going to struggle to try to make ends meet.
I think for the most part school need to teach us how to make money out here instead of all this other stuff they teach. Like evolution. How is this going to teach anyone how to make money? Just my 2 cents. lol
Anyway I would love to hear more about China. I know that earthquake really did some damage. I wish the news out here would cover more on it.
Thank you for your comment.
