The Honda Civic has taken the lead over the Ford 150 pick-up in the sales reports for the USA. What has happened? I know it is the price of Gas. I live in Europe. 10 Years now. But y has the BIG 3 not seen this before. GM has been passed by Toyoto as the number 1 seller in the world. I really thought we were the best in business in the world. I can not see this buy our auto industry. Are they F***ing us? Were they F***ing us, cause now they are liable to takeover posibilities. Sorry, just a opinion from a expatriate.

The Civic is a great and reliable car. Hondas run well for years. American car manufacturers have missed the train on that one. When Honda, Toyota, and the others first began to sell their cars here they were just cheepos and felt like it, too. But the managers and designers of those companies listened to consumer complaints. They made the cars reliable, comfortable, and safe. Meanwhile the American companies asked more and mroe for cheaper and less reliable and even downright unsafe products. Customers could complain about problems until they were blue in their face. We used to have Chrysler cars. Both had transmission problems, one actually blew. Come to find out, it's a common problem and something they were not willing to fix. That was the time, when they didn't have the 70k or 100k warranty. That came when consumer complaints became massive. A new transmission costs more than $2.5k. They didn't care one bit that the transmission blew just a couple of miles past the warranty coverage. The conversation was more a 'haha, got you there' So, while many of us prefer to buy American to support the jobs here, many opt out of that when it comes to our cars. Toyota is the biggest employer in KY anyway, lol.

Hahaha, make me homesick. Unfortunately, the German cars are way too expensive here.
