My little near midnight feast.

It is 11.45pm here in UK, and I am sitting here drinking a mug of hot chocolate with sugar in, and munching on a cadbury's creme egg twister bar,(they are so good)(and I don't normally like choccy) this is a total of 610 kcals and 18g of fat. I also did it last night too and as I sit here munching and supping away I realize that if I am not careful it is going to become a habit! What is supposed to be an indulgent moment when the entire house is in bed is fast going to become extra weight on my hips! I am making this the last time I do it until at least next week as I normally have an indulgent treat day once a week where I eat what I fancy and I never normally eat at night. I shall put it down to the fact that I have had two bad nights with the kids and that I need the sugar for extra stamina, or something like that! Am I the only one who has indulgent moments in the dead of night when all the kids and hubby/partners are asleep? What sort of near midnight goodies to you like to indulge in? Did you used to have midnight feasts as a child when having sleepovers or anything?

I never go to bed before midnight but each night around that time I make what is usually my last coffee and dunk a few biscuits in it. AHHH... Bliss!

Hey I like to dunk biscuits in coffee, people think I am disgusting as they say they should only be dunked in tea. I think they taste better in coffee!

Funny that. I can't stand tea even though all my family drink it. They brew a pot every meal and if I'm there they grumble about "bloody coffee drinkers".

I don't do midnight treats. I'm just not hungry at that time of night and don't even think about it. Every once in awhile I will wake up in the middle of the night and grab a cookie or something, but my passion lately has been cinnamon covered pretzel bits in the morning with a pepsi. They are wonderful when they are warm, they just about melt in your mouth.

I agree - you definitely needed the sugar to keep you going after 2 bad nights gemini and I wouldn't budge from that excuse! lol I will sometimes eat chocolate at night when everyone else is asleep but not a lot - I usually have some supper of toast and hot milk or horlicks before they all go to bed and I don't really have a big appetite anyway! I have tried those cream egg twisted and they are quite good but I only ate half and covered the remaining half with the wrapper - when I got back to it and went to eat it Niamh had sucked the filling out! lol xxx

Thats what my daughter did. I have eaten three of the things since monday now, I really gotta stop! I am starting to get bad gut now so I know that I have to stop or else I will be ill.

Enjoy y our indulgent moments, don't feel too guilty, savour the taste, you deserve it after the rough two nights you have had. Right now I am dieting, so I am not snacking on any naughty foods. But when I am not dieting I liked to have my indulgent moments at around 4pm in the afternoon. My favourite is snacking on cookies, I love anzac cookies, especially fresh ones. I do like chocolate but I try not to eat it as much as I know it will go straight to my hips, lol. If I do buy a choccy it will be Turkish Delight or Top Deck, mmmmmmmmm.

I always feel guilty! Over the last 2 years I shed 5 stone in weight, getting myself down to 8 stone 2lbs, this made me underweight and made me feel ill. It was due to stress though, I put 4lb back on and have stuck at 8st 6 lb for 2 years. I went on holiday and did not even put a pound on in weight, in the last two days I have put 3lb on through drinking cappucinos and eating those choccie bars!Today I am on apples.

Just imagine the apples taste like chocolates, lol and you will be fine. I am not sure how much 8st 6lb is, I work in kilograms here in Australia. Stress definately can make you lose weight, when I am stressed I also lose weight as eating food makes me feel ill. I am sure the occassional choccy and cappachino would be okay but all in moderation, lol. Have a great day.

gemini rose when my son is busy on the computer and itslate an Iam getting low blood sugar, I usually have acheese sandwich nuked so the cheese is all melty, or a bowl of instant oatmeal with dates and nuts in it. if I had a chocolate bar of really dark chocolate I would eat that instead.but right now I do not have one so it has to be more healthy things lol lol

Yum, love melty cheese. I had some dates in some porridge the other day, I was nearly sick, they are gross!!

I love midnight snacks. I love to reheat leftovers. My favorite is if we had some sort of rice for dinner...rice and some sort of beef. LOL I'm not much for the sweets at night..but i like food so Iwould probably eat it if we didnt have any of the other stuff HAHA

I have moments like this alot of times. My husband and I both work nights and I get the munchies sometimes during the night while working. I like to fix nachos and spicy foods like tacos or some pizza. I hardly ever have a sweet tooth anymore for some reason or another. I used to have midnight feasts with a friend of mine when we were growing up. Her mom and dad always had all kinds of candies.

Snacks don't last long in my household so I got to get to them quick. I don't snack as much because I'm trying to lose weight but have on occasion ate Special K bars, taco chips with dip LOL and or nacho cheese chips my favorite.

I am truly a fan of having just a little something to help me make it through the rest of the night. One of my favorites is a sandwich. They are quick, simple and they are only limited by your own imagination.
