Reading is indeed part of life. We all read our text books. Most people read at least the daily newspapers. But, is that enough? there are so many books. Books are the experiences of others . Without reading books, what is life?!!

Well us reading is a way of life, it actually goes deeper then just reading out text books or reading books for enjoyment... so tell me this.. if you couldnt read how would you know what way you were going on the street, if you dont read how can you properly prepare food, when you walk down the isel at the store even if you are trying your hardest, you mind reads the produst... try it. and tell me what happends:)

we still have "illiterate" people in this country.. especially the elderly ones.. some may no not 'read english' but they can read in their own 'dialects'... so i think these people carry on with their daily routine without 'reading'... and i dont think they need to... my elderly neighbour... i know she doesnt know how to read english... but she 'reads' the Quran,.. so does that count as 'reading' ?

I think evryone of us can't go a day without reading bcoz how can you go to the store if you don't know what road are you going or what kind of food you going to buy.So I think its hard to live if you don;t know how to read.

I don't think so. Reading is somewhat an unconscious habit. You look at a word and you recognize what that word is and what it means. You do not tell yourself to read the word, it just happen! So I guess it is impossible not to read even for a single day!
