Beliefs that without any reasonable basis may be called superstitions. Almost everybody dreads Friday the thirteenth, crows and the hooting of owls. All these are about to associate with bad luck. For some avoidable circumstances, there are a lot of charms, mantras and prayers available for averting for averting catastrophe.
Nobody knows how much these superstition really bring about the calamities as they are claimed to do. they are virtually no scientific studies carried out to confirm or deny them. So we carry on believing unreasonability and often fearfully. However, i think some beliefs which i think should not be taken seriously. For example, the appearance of the comet is a sign of wars and pestilence.
Unless one is prepared to risk life and lamb to disprove the superstition, it is a safest to walk the middle path. It is a sheer madness ti believe blindly every superstition. It equally mad to totally deny all of them.
Do you consider superstitions to be silly nonsense, or do you think that some should be taken seriously?
