Why are there so many problems with Windows Vista?

Windows Vista seems to cause me more harm than good. You can't attatch documents without saving them as a word 1993-1997 doc. It took months before iTunes could be downloaded and function properly for Vista. I use the computer quite a bit but I'm not an expert, are there any amazing features that Vista has that I must be missing? Feel free to share your problems with Vista, I'm interested to hear what everyone else thinks!!
