I woke up this morning and really wanted to call in sick.
My boss is such a bytch (I spelled in wrong just for the heck of it)
Yesterday she made me have a long talk to her about why the department was fussy about our time.
First all, we are human if the company expects us to make up our time when we leave early etc for doctor's appt etc then of course in return when we do extra hours we expect to be able to use that to apply for times when we leave early too right?
Am I making any sense, or maybe I am still upset to make any sense.
We are all being paid on salaried and therefore, we put in our 8 hours and more sometimes. But since they expect us to stay an hour later if we reported to work late such as for doctors appt or something.
So when we end up staying late on a nother day for extra work load, we never requested them to pay us overtime because they won't approve overtime. So how does that work? It is not fair right?
There is 3 people in my department and 2 of them take their breaks. One of the lady takes more breaks for smoking etc.
I never take a break because I have lots of work. But then now I started taking my break by logging on to mylot. (yes, that is my break now). It is difficult to justify this matter with my boss now because I am on odd hours due to the therapy session with my daughter for autistic reasons and school issues too.
I don't know what to do anymore. I cannot leave the job because I need to pay the bills. but I really want to quit and do homeschool.
the irony here, my boss also has an autistic boy who is now 25 and he is severly autistic that he does not work at all but still attends some kind of school for ASD at age 25. So I don't know why she does not understand the importance of therapy etc.
Thanks for reading about me latest venting problem.
How about your day at work? How is it going and do you hate it as much as I do? Would work be different if you worked with a really good boss?

I am sorry you are having such a bad time right now. You would think she would understand as she has dealt with the same things you are. Is there any way you might find a job that you like better with the same pay? I think bosses do make a difference. If they are good and treat you like a person it makes you like your job better. If they treat you like a numbered work horse it will make people hate their job. My husband drove a mixer truck. When he first started the company he worked for treated their employees and family really good. Giving bonuses, family christmas dinner, employees of the month awards, this company sold out to another one and they treated the employees like dirt. All the above named benefits were gone plus more were taken. My husband hated his job. If you were not one of the in buddies of the lower bosses you got treated even worse. It did not matter how hard you worked. That just goes to show that when doing the same exact job with good bosses you can love your job take away the great bosses and benefits and you can hate your job. I hope that things get better for you.

Hi travibabiesgirl.
Thanks. I agree when you do the same job for a different company you like it much better.
i am sorry to hear that your husband also have similiar problem. is he going to find a new company to work for soon?
I wish I can move to a different company. However, in today's market it is hard unless I can put in the same full time schedule.
however, it will look bad if I start a new company and start taking time off to take care of therpay sessions, school meetings etc. With my current company they know my ability and I know the workflow so I can finish it quickly but at a a new company I don't know what will happen. So I fear the worse.
My boss really makes it hard for me to take the time off and makes it worse when she keeps piling things on my desk.
they only reason why they let me leave early, come in late etc because I submitted a FMLA form that states I am qualified to take time off for medical needs for my daughter. So i am somewhat protected by the LAW but they can still make it difficult without making it obvious.
Thanks for tip.

You are so lucky that you can file a leave or call in sick.
If we did that, they will ask for a doctors note. which means i need to spend half of my day sitting in a doctors office. What a waste of time, so we could only request vaction time but I dont have any because I been using them to take my daughter for her appointments.
well I hope you find yourself another job you like soon.
good luck and it is Monday again and I still hate going to work.
