God rested after six days of work. We should do the same, but it doesn't matter which day, as long as we do not work more than six days in a row. The Lord God was simply setting an example to say "Don't over do it! Even deities need a day off, so little mortals need it more so." Well, that's my personal opinion... and actually something I've been considering recently.

If God says the Old and the New Testament, testify of each other then why would God give us two different days to observe the Sabbath? It doesn't make sense if you really think about it. So many people who say the follow the bible teaching really don't know the scriptures at all. Many teach falsely that when Jesus came he did away with the law of Moses (Gods Laws), but Jesus stated in the New Testament Matthew 4:17, "Do not think I came to destroy the law and the prophets, I do not come to destroy but to fulfill". The Old Testament speaks of God's Law and Prophecies, the New Testaments teaches the fulfillment of these prophecies through Christ Jesus. Which means every law and prophesies mention in the Old Testament Jesus came to fill in the New Testament. It is so important to study the word of God both in the Old and New Testament, so you wont be mislead.

God set aside the 7th day for rest and reflection on Him. But, new Christians, after Jesus's resurrection, met on Sunday because, as Jews, they were still attending temple on Saturday in the Jewish tradition of Sabbath. They still considered Saturday the Sabbath. As more and more non-Jews became Christians, the idea of Sabbath came to point to Sunday for Christians. But, my personal feeling is, if a day is set aside for God, then you have fulfilled his commandment. Seventh Day Adventists believe in Saturday Sabbath. I don't have a problem with that. To them, it is as holy as it is to Jews and as Sunday are to Christians. I believe God respects those who respect the Sabbath, regardless of what day they have it. But, again, that is my own feeling about it.

Hi Deliciousxoxo, Originally the Sabbath was from Friday at 6pm to Saturday 6pm, today many celebrate it on Sunday, unless you are a Seventh Day Adventist. I also have found because of many different days off many cannot have either day. So them, I know take one of the days they have off and call that their Sabbath. The Catholic's changed it to Sunday in the early days, don't remember if it was Constantine or Augustine,. I believe it is your day to call of rest. Unless you are able to take one of the two days due to your religion preference. Mainly due to the fact many cannot get those days off anymore from work. They take one of the days they do get off work.

Everyone claims the sabbath day is Sunday...I'm a bit confused on this though myself. Why is it we say Sunday is the first day of the week (the day God began creation) and Saturday - the last day of the week (and day of rest) - when we commemorate Sunday as being the Sabbath day?...It is Sunday though, to answer your question, but it doesn't make sense when Saturday is the technical day of rest and end of the week...

In other countries the end of the week is Sunday, so in some places, it makes sense.

Yeah, well, I still consider Sunday the end of the week, myself. I hate how it's depicted as being the start of the week...Makes no sense at all. I'd much rather be where they say it's the end of the week...Cuz Sunday is like the Monday of the weekend to me....-.- Slow and simple.

The True Sabbath Day appointed by God is observed on Saturday. Through Roman Emperor Constantine the TRUE church of God was done away with and along with God's Holy Festival. It was through the ruling of Roman Emperor Constantine that the Sabbath Day was changed to Sunday along with God's Holy Festival that we should keep mentioned in the bible (Old and New Testament). You can read more about the history of Roman Emperor Constantine by this link: http.//www.antiochain.org/1110388342 All those who observe the Sabbath "God's Holy Day of rest" on Sunday's has been mislead. You are serving a man made day of rest not God's. Which mean many are being robbed of God's blessing and eternal rest.
