When you receive an email and you open it, read it; do you reply to it immediately or do you go back to whatever you were doing before THEN respond?
I tend to respond immediately...why sit around doing something else and have your box filling up. I get rid of 'em quick. I also, get annoyed when I know someone has read my email (read receipt) and it takes them hours; sometimes days, to respond!!!)

I don't always read the email straight away. It depends on who it is from, the subject line, what I am doing etc.
And when I read the email, I don't always email back straight away. Depends on the content, or if I have someone else email me with something more important.

I think it depends at what I am doing. At work I get emails all through the day. If I am busy doing something or in the middle of assessing something then I will not open and read the email at all.
If I am not that busy and I open the email, then the chain of thoughts or actions that I was doing before have already been interupted by looking at the email, so if the email contains something that I can reply to straight away I might as well take an extra couple of minutes and do so. Most of the time however the emails means I have to go find some information etc and then I will leave it until I finished what I am doing! I do not like those emails because they mean I get even more work to do, and I am already swamped all the time..

I usually try to answer e-mails back right away when it's something that I can actually respond back to. But, if I am almost out the door and don't have time to respond, I will do it when I get back from wherever I am off to. I've found that those who take forever to answer your e-mails also take forever to return phone calls. I get really annoyed when someone doesn't return my calls or my e-mails that require a response.

I usually read it, and then go back to what I was doing. I then answer all the email notifications at one time, once or twice a day. Besides, I like to think a little about each subject before I respond. Thanks for asking, Mare!

Oh it just depends on what i'm doing at the time, what the email is about if i think it needs a immediate response. If its just a comment from here or say myspace or livejournal i might not answer right away but if its an email from a friend about something i will likely answer it immediately if i am at the computer.
