Is there an age after which employers don't want full-time workers? Even as companies know older people are more experienced, they are still considered in a less-than-flattering light. Why so ?

I think it is the younger population with degrees that feel the "older" people (over 35) are dull and boring. They have not found that the partying with the new position will end and life will become normal. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with capabilities.

Hi there. When I was 19 I found it really hard to find full-time work and ended up taking part-time work for 6 years! I finally managed to get a full-time job when I was 25. I think it works both ways though. I think if they're older to the extent that they are within a few years of retirement the employer doesn't want to invest the money in training someone that will leave very soon. But with someone young they could be seen as inexperienced and not responsible enough to have a full time job.
