Landline vs No Landline phone

My hubby and I decided to drop our landline and move the home number to his cellphone due to the bill -- $400/year and increasing when we always had it forwarded to his cell anyway. We went about 2 months and then I got laid off and required the ability to fax more often than twice a year. We ended up purchasing a MagicJack -- a type of VoIP service ($20 for the jack & $20/year). So far we are enjoying it.
Would you cancel your landline phone service? If so, under what conditions? What kind of alternatives would you consider? If not, why not?

We don't have landline phones. I think it is more convenient to have cellphones as you can contact the person wherever he is. Having a landline would just be another unnecessary expense for my family.

We have thought about it and decided to keep our landline. Our home phone bill i sonly about $20/month and our current cell bill is about $75 a month. If we were going to get rid of anythign to cut costs, we would reduce our cell phone minutes and features.

i have always had a landline in my home ever since i have had the children.
I think it is very important to have an accesible telephone especially for those emergency situations.
I wouldnt consider terminating my landline as i only have a pay as you talk mobile phone and i hardly ever have any credit so i wouldnt be able to rely on it.
