My friend and I are starting up an inhome daycare and later on moving it to a licenced business and we are having some difficulties finding places to sell or donate tables and chairs for the little ones. Does anyone have any suggestion to where I would look for this type of place that would supply them for us?
Your suggestions are appreciated and thanks for your help!

Hello Nixxi! I use this a lot and it works well! Go to yahoo groups and search for city name (were ever you live) and the words FreeCycle. These are groups set up in city across the US for people to ask for things and/or give things away for free. You will be surprised at what you can get for free! I hope this helps. I also use (city name)and the words Garage Sale. You can get items very cheap!

hi deborah,
Thanks so much for the information. I"m going to try this and see what comes up. I also came across a website called daycaremall and it has everything you need for a daycare. The prices on this site are quite pricey and I can't see myself buying anything from it but it sure gave me some ideas on how we want to set it up

As far as donations you may want to ask churches or schools that may be getting rid of supplies. Walmart and Toys R Us use to sell tables and chairs for small children as well (plastic of course). Have you thought about Thrift Stores of Consignment shops?

Thanks sedel, I'm going to phone around to a couple of thrift shops and see what they have to offer. As for schools that we've contacted, they told us that as a rule they were not donating any nor selling them either. I completely forgot to call some churches as well and I'm going to do that too.
Thanks so much for your help.
What is a consignment shop?
