I don't think I can answer this too well. I don't think I have witnessed or been part of any dramatic events but I was supposed to be shopping in Manchester in 1996 when the bomb went off.

My sister and mum were on the way home from Mcr on the bus- Back then we didn't have these new fangled mobiles to check they'd left town. Though they did evacuate everyone and close off the area. Who the fook knew we'd reach a point where we were nostalgic for the Ira's type of terrorism...

I haven't thought about life before mobile phones in a long time. I didn't get one till quite late on, I resisted until I was in my early twenties but i'm so used to knowing what's going on and when. I get frustrated when I don't know what the plan is and where people are.

I'm still a bit anti-mobile and treat my phones unkindly as a result. They, to their credit put up with it, but it does mean shiny pieces of looking-glass that are actually mobile computers are out of my range. I use my phone calendar to tell me where and when I'm supposed to be.
