What do you think of the Winchester Mystery House?

Have you ever been to the Winchester Mystery House? I think it has been on most every show that has to do with paranormal activity. Maybe you don't know the name of it but if you heard the story you might know what I am talking about. Sarah Winchester married into the Winchester family and some medium told her she was haunted by all of the ghosts that were kill by the guns produced by the family. The same medium told her she has to have constant construction on the house meaning 24/7, or bad things would happen to her.
Have you ever been there? I went there while I was in San Jose last fall. It was very pretty and I took hundreds of pictures but I didn't see anything unusual in the pictures. My friend lives in San Jose and he said that during Halloween week you can take midnight/flashlight tours of the house. Have you been there and if you were there did you see or have anything show up on film? Very curious to hear your responses. Thanks!

Is this what the tv series Supernatural is based on? Because the main characters's last name is Winchester. I never knew this house existed.

It must be. =) They're ghost hunters too. Their mom's name is Sarah Winchester and she was abducted by ghosts or some sort of creature.

I've never been to the Winchester Mystery House but I have heard several things about and have seen several shows on it. I watched the episode of Ghost Hunters and was intrigued. I would love to go see it though. That place has such a history and background I wouldn't mind experiencing everything for myself.

One of the things I loved about the house was the fact that it sits right in downtown San Jose and you walk into the property and it seems like you're in the country.

Speaking of watching it on Ghost Hunters, I watched some other group visit the Winchester Mystery House on some late night live show, and they were hearing everything, and there were bangs everywhere, but there were some people in there that were unaccounted for. I am still trying to figure out if they were setting it up, or if it was just inactive when TAPS was there. I still don't believe that it was haunted.

Hope you like to walk, there is a lot of walking involved in the tour. Sarah was a short woman so all of the stairs in the house are called (I think) mini risers and they are hard on long legged people. We also did the behind the scenes tour which was probably the best part because you got to go to the out houses (the gardener's house and whatnot). I didn't see a thing that seemed odd or out of place, but I did love the beautiful stain glass windows throughout the house.

Ive never visited there but is number one on my list of over sea Investigations. I dont know the history too much and prefer it that way, I wish to pick up my own Information from what I am gifted for.
It looks beautiful and wish I lived there myself :)

It is very beautiful. Some of the house was pretty damaged by the big earthquake that hit that area in 1904. It was very cool to see how little every thing was since Sarah was so small.
