Yes, I can do all sorts of braided styles. I used to be even better than I am now. Now I'm still not used to having long hair. Currently, I can do a standard braid (just split your hair in three parts and braid), a French braid, an inside-out French braid (just move your hands in the opposite manner so that it looks like a braid sticking on top of your head), and I can do bunches of little braids. I used to also be able to do a French braid going from any starting point on my head, a tiny French braided headband, French braided pigtails either on their own or later combining into one or going over and on top of my head like the movie Heidi. Now my arms aren't flexible enough, but I'm also not young enough to get away with these styles either. What I'd love to learn how to do, are cornrows. Those look awesome! I've never been able to do those. The funny thing is, I'm generally better at braiding my own hair than other people's hair because my hands are just used to moving in a certain way.

With practice I think almost anyone could do it. You have to have some coordination, but I think most people could learn. My first few attempts were horrible. Now that my hair is about 3 inches longer than when I last posted, it is getting necessary for me to braid my hair daily so I have gotten quite fast.

So with some practice anyone should be able to learn it? I think I just loose patients and give up. Perhaps some are more patient and cordinated to do it. I bet your hair is very pretty.

I have short hair now. I never could braid my own hair though when it was longer. I had a hard time braiding my daughters hair also. I am not good when it comes to fixing hair at all. It get all turned around and everything feels like I am doing it all backwards. I tried and tried but just won't work.

I'm letting my hair grow out and like to do differnt things. My daughter wouldnt sit still long enough for me to braid her hair. I hope someone has some ideas on braiding. We shall see.

The hard thing is, if you forget what direction you were going the whole thing gets messed up. I can't do many actual hairstyles. The ones I know are mostly braided styles.

I use to wear my hair long and for all those years I could never braid my own hair. It always seemed to braid at the ends as I was braiding it at the top. I had to have someone else braid my hair for me. I wear my hair shorter now. I always wondered how others were able to braid their own hair.
