After what started out to look like a blowout series, the Penguins gave the Red Wings everything they wanted in the last 4 games. What a great series it ended up being. A late score within 1 minute to send game 5 into a 3 OT thriller. Then a goal within 3 minutes to turn game 6 into a one goal game, followed by a great chance at the buzzer. This was a great series and I am disappointed that it has ended. Well, not too disappointed since my favorite team won it. Time for the celebration. Comment on this great series.

That was a terrific series. Easily one of the best i have seen in a long long time. It was so close and exciting to see two great teams go at it for 6 games. I am glad the red wings won it i did not want to see crosby win the cup. I think he is a big cry baby quite honestly.

i actual think crosby and hossa where only two that consistently showed any heart for the pens. as for the Crosby whining, he does, but think about it this way how many 20 year olds dont seem to whine. we say act like a man but he is still a boy out there. i look for him to mature a lot and this series should have taught him a lot when he looks back on it. he has a whole summer now to watch film and see what the wings where doing. next year when they meet again ( barring major injuries by either team) i think every game will be a lot closer

I have to admit Crosby whines a lot, but which big stars did not? In his last years all Mario Lemieux did was whine that there was too much hooking in the NHL. Gretzky on the other hand did the same thing once he had no goon(Semenko with the Oilers, Mcsorley with the Kings). But... you don't hear Ovechkin complain.
On to the serie, up to game 3 the Pens were no match for Detroit, but they showed starting with game 3 that they were the Eastern division champion for a reason.
Great game yesterday also, if the refs had not put their whistle in their pocket for the 3rd period it might have been a very different outcome.

True but Crosby just seems to go overboard with it. The guy dives all over the ice whenever he's touched with a stick and covers his face like he was it there with it. He needs to grow a pair and get some heart. But your right it was a great game and series and yesterdays game could've gone either way. My heart nearly stopped there at the end when the puck rolled through the crease just 2" from the goal line with a second to go.

It was a great final.I like the pens but I love The Wings. Before it started, I really didn't know who would win.All I knew that one team would win and I would be happy. But as soon as the Pens started hitting Franzen in the head, I started rooting for The Wings over the Pens. thought that Ozzy should have been final MVP.i was amazed that Datsuk and Zetterberg both played great defense. I was amazed that #13 could finish his checks so well. And Zetterberg was everywhere on that 5 on 3 in game 5.I am so glad that Lindstrom is the first European born Captain. He is a class act.In fact the whole team is a class act.You would want to call The Wings a well working machine, but the players with great personalities and the way they really care for one another gets in the way.I hope that most of the guys will stay/ I am greedy, I have seen all 4 times they hoisted the Cup and I would love to see them do it again.

Nice responce. I wouldn't argue with you about Ozzy for MVP. There are several that you could have given it to though. They are definitly a class act. They play well together and are certainly a well oiled machine.

this really was a series for the ages, especially with the last two games. i, however, know that neither game should have even been close to a pens win. thengame 5 with 40 seconds left zetterberg had the puck at mid ice and instead of dumping it towards teh empty net, he tried being fancy and pulling datsyuk-esque moves in between 2 defenders and lost the puck...5.7 seconds later the game was tied. then in both games hudler gets a crappy penalty late in game and costs them game 5 and in game 6 led to a goal to put the pens within striking distance. as far as everyone who will whine about teh refs, they ate their whistles for most of teh past couple games which benefitted neither team more, say what you may. detroit obstruction calls werent made but neither were the penguins' trips, holds, boards or literal rapings to holmstrom in front of the net on every shift. plus game 5 with those two goalie interference calls that made me laugh harder than i have at any comedy. the penguins were a decent team at best and may become good if their stars can learn to deal with the pressure and a good opposing defense. my definition of game 5 is the pens didnt win and the wings didnt lose, marc andre fleury won and the refs lost. MAF was great the past couple games for pitt and look for him to be around a long time. for whatever reason other teams cant seem to take advantage of the fact that he plays like hasek and goes down way before the shot so anything up high will beat him. wings won, best team won, repeat next year....look for it
