no obviously a big negation to your question.work may be a part of life,an important one, but never the life. there are maby more things to cater to in life. just work, work and work is not the rule. priority changes with the situation around. suppose you have seminar at your work-place, the of course work should be priority. but if someone is ill at home, then taking him or her to the physician becomes all the more important.let us hope that we do not face such situations in life.but yes, work should never be neglected.

you are rite that work should be given first most priroity then anything else.wht else you want todo if not work.it is work only which makes you earn and bring respect in the socoity.if you are working, you can do anything, you like but if you are not working then you forcefully not to do anything coz earning is must for the survival, althrough it is indifferent if you are getting money from another source without doing work.

It's true that we all need to work as we need money to get the things we want and need. But for me,my family is my priority that's why I will have to work when I graduate.

No, work should not be your first priority. I speak from experience, as I spent 21 years working for a large company and became a workaholic there. I am a single mom and had to spend more time working than with my child when she was growing up. I still feel guilt about that. Granted, we had to make the money to survive, but I still think we could have made it on a little less. I mismanaged budgets and credit cards to provide more than I could really afford for our lifestyles. I realized, too late, that I should have spent more time with family and simply done without some of the luxuries during those years that my daughter needed me to give more attention to her. If you have any choice at all, choose family first and work second. She is a grown woman now and does understand, but I still feel that I handled it all wrong.

To the average household the balance between work/family/hobby is a difficult one.
As someone said above, without work, and so earning money, you starve! So work is very important.
But your wife and children also want attention and to avoid being a 'dull boy' one also needs hobbies and entertaining friends.
So in my view, work does come first and ones family must be aware of that and expect to make some sacrafices.
But, and it is a big 'but', the earner must make time for his family and other interests to make his life complete.

I think people should work to earn money to live on, but I think work should not become ones main focus. To many times people will start working and then it over takes their life. They over look their families emotional needs. They start missing out on more and more on life. Work to survive but take the time to enjoy the life you have also. You have a limited amount of time here and you never know when that time will end. take the time to live, love, and enjoy life. Leave wonderful memories with the people in your life so that if your time is up and you were to die suddenly your loved ones have wonderful memories to hold on to.

Work should be priority only during the official working hours. After putting in your 8-9 hrs effort you need to switch back to your personal life. If we give importance to personal life over the professional or vice versa, we would loose the work-life balance which is so very important to maintain the sanity in life.

We all have to work to earn a living, even Bill Gates work to keep his company even though he's like so rich, well that's what I thought lol. Anyway, I always believe in "work hard, play hard". During working hours, work shall of course be our first priority, that's what we are paid for. After work, just spend quality time with family and friends, or rejuvernate ourselves for a few hours. It's how we balance our time and priorities.
Cheers~

that depends on your financial situation. If you were a millionaire or just inherited a good fortune, work in that sense should only be an ornanment to what you have enjoyed your life. Simply put, do you work to live or live to work? I always wish that one day work should not be my first priority any longer.
