Has House jumped the shark?

The latest season of House seems to be an episode after another that tries to retain an audience by fussing with the old format (introduction of new characters, unusual episodes like the two-part bus accident one most recently). They have changed the nights of the week a couple times this season as well. This seems odd since House still rates very highly. Could it be an effect of the writer's strike last fall? I love House for what it's been, but I'm nostalgic for the first couple seasons.

I've noticed it too and I am just as nostalgic for the old format and older seasons (I have them on DVD). I've noticed myself loosing interest a little bit because of the changes. I preferred what it was rather than what they are trying to change it into.
I did, however, enjoy the season finale two episode bus one. It was, interesting to say the least. Had me on the edge of my seat and giggling at some of the sarcastic\funny moments. Had me in tears at the end too. It struck close to home because our family has gone through a similar set of emotions removing someone from life support (my mother in law) and never got to say goodbye ourselves - it's true what they said, not everyone gets the opportunity to say goodbye. Was a very heartbreaking and tear jerking episode.
