It means that you are special because as you can see I do not have one next to my name :(

The star will only appear after you make more than 100 posts.
And It depend on your reputation,
which given by other member.

When I first posted it I did not have a star. Apparently you have to reach 100 posts before you get a star. Thanks for making me laugh though.

I'm confused...I see a pink one with a 6 in it for you, white is for a 7 star...maybe you just had a little glitch since you just received your star.
But like the others said, it's a reflection of how other users have rated your posts with the
+-! buttons. 10 is the highest, 1 is the lowest that will appear...if a person drops below what is required for a 1 star tey will have no star at all. Everyone gets the star when thy reach 100 posts.

That star next to your name is your mylot reputation! It is how others view how your posts are. The highest star you can get is a 10 the lowest is a 1. Keep on posting and you can raise your star in no time by making quality posts of 4 to 5 lines long.
