I don't work very well in dead silence, so I have a radio on for background noise. Most of the time I really don't pay attention - unless they are running a contest that I want to win. Every now and then I will get some interference, from a cell phone I think. It usually sounds like guys talking about construction or traffic. For some reason I feel like it's a Nextel or other cell phone. It doesn't happen often, but sometimes it startles me in the middle of a song.

When I worked at the race track here I had to wear a headset so I could hear and talk to the guys that were lining up the cars or flagging or getting the cars back in order after a crash or caution for what ever reason and sometimes we would hear people talking from a nearby hotel, room service. Ever so often some of the guys would talk back to them or tell them to bring more ice or whatever. It was funny. That would scare me when they would come on talking all of a sudden also, especially since I was usually so tuned in to watching the cars and keeping track and writing down the car numbers, I was in my own little world. haha

Now that would have been interesting! If you weren't so into your job you coulda played along a bit, but I guess it was better that you were keeping focused!

Are you sure it isn't aliens? Those little green people like beings? I am the total opposite of you Reinydawn. Anything at all distracts me from what I am doing. I hope you win a lot of contests ~D

Howdy stranger! I haven't seen you in a while (although I did get your last e-mail update!)
Ya know, sometimes it does sound like aliens, but I'm not anywhere close to Area 51 (or whatever that place is). But if they are aliens, I hope I'm not supposed to be interpreting what they're saying and passing the message along!

I had a lamp with a remote switch and when it was plugged in a certain outlet, it would turn on all by itself in the middle of the night, that is, very early morning.2:00 a.m., to 6:00 a.m. I do not get it on my radios. I fixed the light by plugging it in somewhere else.

I did read somewhere that power cords are like antennaes, and sometimes I get better reception when I move it around a bit. I don't have any other place to plug the radio in, but that could be a part of it!
