This is hysterical, now.

I tend to talk in my sleep but this is a little different. one night I was having a night terror. I was dreaming about a killer on the loose. I screamed at the top of my lungs, not only in my dreams but in reality and woke my husband up out of a deep sleep. Needless to say I scared my husband horribly. I can laugh at it now, but he still doesn't find it very funny. Has anyone else done that or something similar?

I'm so sorry you had to go through that! I've had night terrors since I was little and they're very unpleasant. From what I understand, however, night terrors are differentiated from nightmares by how much you remember. With night terrors, you don't tend to remember anything and don't wake up for the screaming. I don't blame your hubby for not finding it funny, because he was probably terrified, too! I hope you don't have any more vivid, awful nightmares!

Thanks for the concern. One doctor told me I have night terrors, but you're right about the not remembering and not waking up. I read somewhere about dreams because I was fighting in my sleep too, literally. I almost fell out of bed one night while swinging at someone. Those dreams I remember vividly. When my husband tells me what I was doing (kicking, punching, etc.) I can pin point it back to the exact dream that caused it and what it was about. To this day I can still remember dreams from months ago. It can be very eerie. I am thinking about having a sleep study or something done. It hasn't happened in about a month though. I do know that last weekend when I woke up I could remember at least 3 dreams vividly. Thank you for the kind words.
