How often do your kids get icecream?

My kids have at least 1 icecream each week. It is their weekly treat while we wait for their older brother to have his swimming lesson.
We get to swimming, get changed and before we even find a seat to sit on the nearly 3 year old twins have raided the freezer for their favourite icecreams. We sit down, open their 'lollies' and then I get to go and pay for them. The swimming pool staff know us so it is Ok to do it this way. 15 minutes to devour their lollies and paint their faces, fingers and the table with icecream ... and then they run the sugar off around the cafeteria area until the end of the lesson.
We cause mayhem, but by now everybody knows us and sicne the twins smile so sweetly at everyone, it seems they are forgiven (by most) - lol.
Is there anybody else out there who finds themselves in a similar situation each week?

yes the story is so real that i can visualise two small kids / twins moving around and ice creamed fingers, faces and all moving around the pool among all the grownups and all smiling at them and talking about them while swimming or....
good i remember when as kids we used to go out for a walk after dinner and most of the families enjoying their sweet and cold treat on the road side!

Thanks.
It is a fun afternoon - but can also be very stressful - sometimes. Luckily most people are very understanding. Lol.
Where did you live when you were growing up that you were on the road side enjoying icecreams. Must say, I recall a similar scenario as a kid, I grew up in South Africa (back in the good 'ol days) lol

thanks dear for your kind and sincerity. as a child i grew up in newdelhi in india . here it is still a sight. many will stroll out and the others in their cars and will land up at the icecream vendor and dozens of families will be seen enjoying their flavor and it is a great thing , laughing loudly to some family stuff oor friendly jokes!!

Well now that it has gotten really hot, we've found ourselves getting ice cream about once a week as a family also. We don't usually give our kids treats, but it has been a scorcher this summer and it's a fun cheap thing to do. We have Chick Fila by our house and we can get 4 cones for under $5.00. The ice cream is made naturally and fresh so it's a nice thing to do for everyone and then we usually go to the pool also!

It is good to share icecream as a family, and, as you say, nice and cheap. In the summer going to the pool is also a brilliant family activity. Something I find difficult to do with my 3 young kids, but certainly something we will be doing regularly when they are a bit older and safe in the water.

LOL That is so cute honey! I can just see the 2 smiling faces covered in ice cream and melting everyones hearts! My kids get ice cream a few times a week - sometimes from the ice cream van that stops outside our house every evening and sometimes from our freezer but they eat healthy diests so we don't mind! xxx

Wow, you bring back some memories with the icecream van. They used to come around when we were kids ... don't see them out here in the sticks too often though!
Yeah, I agree, as long as they don't eat too much junk a little of the 'good stuff' shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the great comment.
Your daughter sounds like a lucky girl, and you sound like a great dad. I'll bet she loves her time with you at the icecram parlour.
