You Would Only Believe This If You Saw It With Your Own Eyes!

As many of you will know, I'm in the midst of visiting a dear Mylot friend, her daughter and her little dog.
Well, last night, the daughter had bought a bottle of Rose Wine, which she and I shared at tea time, but the little dog, as usual, didn't want to be left out, and he was trying to get at the wine. So, the daughter dipped her finger in the wine a few times and let the dog lick it off her finger. Later in the evening, she and I went to the pub for a couple of drinks, and were delighted to be given free crisps and peanuts by the landlord. lol. After four drinks we went back, and there was a little wine left. So around came the dog again, looking at us with big eyes... sitting nicely and waiting for a little more of the wine. So... he got it... how could anybody resist those doggy eyes?
I got up this morning, and my friend told me that her dog had a hangover. I didn't believe her until I saw how lethargic and heavy eyed he was. He slept through until about half past ten, and didn't seem too bothered about his walk or anything. I guess it wasn't a good idea for him to join us in a drop of wine, even though it was very little... it seemed to affect him, but he was going into the glass for it!!! I've seen dogs drinking beer in pubs, when it's been put into a doggy bowl for them, and even one who likes ice cubes which have been sitting in a glass of cider!
What do you think attracts dogs so much to beer, cider and wine. Heck... even slugs go for beer! Have you ever had experience of a pet, or animal with a hangover?

OMG I just couldn’t stop laughing as I read thru this! I know the dog and I just hope he comes online with his own experiences. He is hilarious, funny, endearing, cute, naughty, a darling whose antics I love to respond to.
Sorry, I got carried away but I really do not have any experiences of dogs getting drunk!
C’mon splash some water on those droopy eyes…I so want to hear his own experiece

He's sobered up now, my friend, and I'm sure he will come online and tell you of his boozie ordeal! lol. Right at this moment though, he's missing his friend, Mel... she went home this lunchtime, and he's moping a bit. But... I'm sure he will soon be back to normal and performing to his public again! I would like to hear his version... he wasn't very talkative the morning after. He needed a couple of matchsticks to keep his eyes open! he he
Brightest Blessings and thank you for your contribution, my friend. x

But, but... it wasn't me! I didn't do anything bar breathe on him. I think it was a rare treat for him, my dear friend. His fans are waiting for him to come in and give them his account, when he gets over the mopes about Mel leaving. I'm sure he will love to perform for his public!
Brightest Blessings... I'm gonna miss being here next week, but other fish to fry, as you know. Love you. xxx

Yes, he did look a bit sorrowful... you couldn't help feeling sorry for him but then, he must have enjoyed the initial experience as he kept going back! lol.

Hi Darkwing! This is the first time I have heard a dog having a hangover. I guess, he didn't get enough that is why he got the hangover. haha.. I really don't know for sure why dogs may be attracted to the taste or maybe they like the feeling of getting tipsy.
Take Care and God Bless!

We did laugh about it, but I couldn't help wondering whether they feel the same as us or whether it could, in fact, be harmful to a dog in some way. I just don't know, but he was certainly on a different planet this morning, my friend.
Brightest Blessings and thank you for your contribution. Hope you're well! xx

i believe you story and actually its not very unusual, my lady boss also has 2 dogs, a shi-tzu and a pomeranian, both are princess type so they are only 1-foot rule. she bring her dogs in the office everyday since she bought them 1 year ago. these cutie pets can really do wonders, they are sweet of course and very funny. they love to eat ice cream and my lady boss really buy them ice cream that is a way yummy but a bit expensive. they also love fruit shake and everything that we eat, in fact we really share our foods to them.

Awwwww, your boss's dogs sound really cute. I can just see them wading into ice cream and fruit shake. Yes, they seem to like almost everything their owners eat and drink, and these are sensible enough to choose something which doesn't cause a hangover the morning after!
Brightest Blessings and thank you for your contribution, my friend.

Well, we were only assuming he had a hangover, because he's normally up and raring to go for a walk early, but this particular day, he couldn't keep his eyes open long enough to lift himself off the sofa. lol. He didn't wake properly until about half past eleven.
Brightest Blessings, my dear friend. xx

Now I have told a few people that have started a discussion n their pets that they have personality. Even to the point that they will drink if you let them. What you give them the y will eat or drink. How often do you find a pet that will not eat or drink something that their owner gives them or they see their owner drink or eat. I would have to say they think they are people so where is mine at if your having some. Even if its a hangover.

Yes, I guess they like you to share, but to try and take it from your glass? Something must be attracting its senses? They normally sit and watch you and wait for the offer, or that's the way it happens in my experience. Dogs won't eat some things though... they don't like salt and vinegar crisps, or mustard, and are surely not keen on anything with pepper on it. lol.
Brightest Blessings and thank you for your contribution.
