This increase is affecting everyone's life, even if they don't own a vehicle. Everything we consume is shipped by some form that uses fuel, so as their shipping costs rise, our merchandise costs rise. From a gallon of milk being seen as a bargain at $3.00 to a head of lettuce on sale for $1.50, to a "cheap" pair of kids shoes costing $25!!
Its really ridiculous that the oil companies can get away with this!!!

Yes definitely, at the start of the year I traded my petrol stationwagon for a diesel (small) truck with the idea in mind this would save me money. here in new Zealand you do pay road user tax if u drive a diesel but it still worked out cheaper, but now well it really does not make a diff. my diesel bill a week is double of what it was last year I try to have less trips into town but with one child at kindergarten this is difficult (he can't go on school-bus)It's quite restricting have to really space longer trips we make to see parents as it just costs too much. Ofcourse groceries are going up because of this very reason I try to help out by baking and growing our own vegies, it's really scary though

I think so...because the buying power of money weakens. The salaries/compensation receive is the same and yet the cost of basic necessity in life increases. We have to be a good budget officer and planner to make ends meet. The increase in gas and oil price have greatly affects daily lives especially those family under lower bracket income.
