masalawnabata, good morning and have a great day! I have to tell you that a person will not be successfull (in career or anything) in doing or pursuing something that doesn't make him/her happy. You should have a passion to it...if you don't and you just force yourself (or others force you to do), you'll just end up bitter in the future. Do whatever that makes you happy and and money (as your parents say for your future) will follow. How would you become a successful nurse someday if you really have to passion to the job? you will just end up resenting and blaming your parents for that. You said your passion is into computers and think about it, i know that you have a lot of great new ideas about computer that's why you said so, and that makes a person successful someday. You gotta talk to your parents about your situation. You are old enough to make your decisions (with your parents guidance) and it's your life and your future that is at stake. i think you have heard a lot of stories also regarding their situations that end up no good when they did not do what they wanted. Hope you'll make a sound and good decision for your self.

That's good to know that now you enjoy it. then you have no problem with that now. I have to tell you that my sister had the same dilemna like you when she was about to enter college. She want a course in computer but my parents wanted her to take up nursing. It took her some time to make a decision and finally ended up enrolling in a nursing school. She also learned to love it and enjoyed her studies a long the way. She's now doing good as a nurse in the UK. Hope you'll become successful too and good luck on your studies. Take one step at a time and enjoy your journey!

Hi there masalaw na bata!
Well, I think that you should do what they told you. Then when you graduate and feel like there's something else that you'd really love to do, you can take that course while you're working.
Good luck.

It could be the "nurses are in-demand abroad" thing that is why your parents is forcing you to take up that course.Parents are hard to convince sometimes, yes they know what is best for us but I just hope they are also aware what makes us really happy. Talk to them and explain that nursing isn't what you want. Hope everything will fall into place.
