Travel to the Caribbean

That's the nice thing about being here on MYLOT, where comments can trigger a response many months after the subject was first introduced, rather than the manic immediacy of other Network programs, asking what you're doing NOW! I keep wondering whether we have gradually returned to those bygone days when long haul travel was something only the rich could afford, when we have a lot of people who live in different parts of the world to the land of their birth, and increasingly we find ourselves priced out of what used to be fairly regular holidays to visit family and friends. It also did not help that those setting the prices were able to ring the changes according to their idea of HIGH or LOW Season, simply to make more money on the routes. Here in the UK we are enjoying the next round of FIXES, because more and more of the airlines are trying to move from check-in desks and staff to ONLINE Booking in, with extra charges to come if you insist on seeing a human face behind a desk when you get to the airport. Discount airlines are now charging extra if your suitcase is going into the hold, so hand luggage only. Maybe we should be looking again at the possibilities of travel by sea!
