How did you get hooked to gardening.....

I had seen my father tending to the garden with the help of his staff....we had a huge space ...where he loved gardening in his holidays....we had all kinds of fruits, vegetables and flowers ........ name it... and we hadit in our garden...... now.... I only have miniature version in my balcony........with five varieties of roses ,shoeflower and jasmine.....I still miss my garden very much......to duplicate it is nearly impossible in a spacecramed place like mumbai.....where people live in two or three bedrooms.....
Though I have a dream that I will build a house in coutryside with lots of plants and animals.....but dont know when my dream will finally become a reality........

After I got married I moved into hillstation.There all bungalows have big gardens and everyone is into gardening.I never knew a thing about gardening.to keep myself occupied I started and my husband kept encouraging me.Then when my garden kind of set and it got compliments from friends.This encouraged me and gave me a push.Then I got into it fully grew my own vegetables had lots of potted plants and I began pumping in alot of money.Everytime I visited nurseries I used to buy and collect the rare species.I had a vast collection.Everyone who came would ask for cuttings which I gave away.Somehow I had to get some income from my garden so I started giving my vegetables to the local market.Then I set up a small nursery with the extra plants I had.I started taking part in competitions and I have been winning alot of prizes.I thoroughly enjoy my gardening.I feel very proud when I see all the cars that pass my house slow down and people taking pictures.It gives you alot of satisfaction.

It goes back many years. But from what my memory tells me it was when I first tried planting an herb garden it was small. At that time I loved to cook, and went by a friends house for dinner as I watched her cook she went out to her patio and got some fresh herbs! I thought heck I can do that!!! I was hooked afert that!
