How Do You Juggle Your Offline Job With Your Online Job?

Hi I just wanted to ask how some of you cope when it comes to managing your offline job/s with your online job. In addition to the online freelance writing I do and the 2 blogs I run, I also have 2 other part-time jobs in the real world. I feel scattered energy-wise and wish I could give up one of my part-time jobs, but it's what's paying the bills. If I could earn more online or get more for one of my part-time jobs, I'd be able to give up one. I was just wondering how the rest of you cope? How do you juggle it all? And do you see a light at the end of the tunnel? Thanks.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm trying to juggle four of my own websites, 4 blogs, selling on eBay and Etsy, working my previous full-time job in the real world as a part-time job online, participating in MyLot and several other sites, plus managing a few websites for friends. I gave up trying to give them all my attention each day. Now I give my daily attention to the ones that pay the most, and work on the other sites 2-4 days a week each based upon income status. Don't waste your time and energy where it's not productive. It will eventually affect your health. I can give you info on the site I find the most productive for earning additional income if you are interested. Add me as a friend, and send me a message requesting the link. Have a Happy Day, and good luck with managing your hectic schedule :o)

Hi stickergal! Sounds like you have a lot on your hands and prioritising in order of what's paying the most is definitely the way to go. The 3 things I'm doing pay well, so it's not a matter of dropping the one that's the least productive. I write online and that pays well. I also run workshops in schools which pays handsomely when I can get it. My other part-time job is paying great too. However, it's that last one that I wanna give up in terms of time committment and just having more space in my head. Like I said, I think it's a matter of upping the income for 1 out of 3 of those so I that I can give that up. However, in the meantime, I feel like I'm always working. I feel a bit all-over-the-place and tired and need a looooong holiday. take care and thanks for your comment.

I don't think I could cope with two jobs, two blogs and freelance writing. I don't know how you do it and I admire you for it. I see so many people asking if they can live on money they earn on the internet and you are a perfect example of how difficult it is to make enough to do this. Money earned online is usually extra money not money to pay the rent and household bills. I can see that you enjoy what you do online and I hope you will manage to earn enough from those activities to enable you to give up one of your jobs.

Hi paid2write Thanks a lot for your comment. Yes, it's hard and I guess I'm having one of my GRRRR moments, one where I wish to sleep all day long and wake up to copious amounts of chocolate and Brad-Pitt look-alikes! Ah well... You have a wonder-full weekend :-) take care...

I can't say I have an online job, I do try and post on mylot some more as I missed the discussions on here a lot and it's nice to make some extra money while having fun. So if we're talking mylot in my case, it might happen that I'm off for a long while and then bump back in whenever my shedule is less tight or I have a holiday/vacation from college. I can see with two part-time jobs and even also online jobs and blogs it gets hard to get around to everything :S I don't think I'd be able to do that, I respect you for working this hard.

Hi cyberfluf Thanks for your comments. By online job, I wasn't necessarily talking about myLot, though I do respect that some people may very well treat being on myLot as a job. We all have different lives, so it sounds like you have your priorities sorted out straight. With me, because I'm very keen on freelancing online to a level where I'm making most of my earnings that way, in the meantime I'm having to juggle my job/s in the offline world and in the online world until I can make a complete transition to the latter. So I guess it's more cups of coffee for me, then! take care...
