As the cost of gasoline and jet fuel rises, will you cut your vacation plans out for this summer or continue to plan your vacation as usual? We don't have any plans to travel at this point but if we do, it would be by plane. Southwest is our airline of choice since our youngest daughter lives south.

We haven't had a vacation in over 10yrs. so why start now with the gas prices as high as they are climbing? We are going camping on the 4th of July but that's it. Bout an hour drive to the campground where we went for Memorial Day.

I have been carrying on with my vacation regardless....but once I am home for the summer I am not going to go very far.....I only scheduled one city festival and that's a week from today and not too far away from my home...otherwise it will be short trips around where I live.

This summer myself, my wife and my son had gone to Mangalore (400 kms from Bangalore where we stay) anotehr 200 km we went round that place to visit some relatives and in all to and fro it was1000 km and it required approdimately 60 litres of petrol that means $60. The bus fare would come to same. But now the petrol prices have gone up, it is difficult to take care and we should rely on public transport to go to our native place for summer holidays.

I had some tentative plans for some short weekend trips like to the Grand Canyon or somewhere close by. This is sure going to add to the cost of getting away for a day or two isn't it. I haven't checked on airfares yet, but can't imagine how the prices won't go way up there too. Southwest has had some good deals in the past around here too and hope they continue to do so.

I think that everyone will be doing things a little different if they have to drive. Now they have up the prices on flying too and that might change alot of plans for vacation this year. But there will be some companies that will offer reasonable deals that even with the high prices of gas and jet fuel they just might be able to travel still for the summer.
