A forgotten appointment rears it's ugly head!

I was having a really good day today and then the post came and in it was a letter for me. I knew that it was from the hospital as soon as I saw the envelope, and it was. I have to go for an appointment with them on June 30th and I am really fed up now! I had a hysterectomy last year, it was not a full hysterectomy but a partial one but it was still classed as a major operation. Once it was done I should not have had to go back again, but things went wrong and I had to go and see them 6 months ago and then they said they would monitor me and would see me again in 6 months. So here we are 6 months later, already and I cannot believe I have to go back again I was hoping they would forget. I would not mind if it was just an appointment but I know that I will have to have an internal and I hate them, I have had that many over the years that I am sure the doctors recognize me more by whats down there than by my face! What is the last appointment you had to go to that you really did not look forward too? Or do you have an upcoming appointment that you just wish would go away?

Awww poor gemini - I understand how you feel - I have seen the inside of too many hospital rooms myself in the last couple of years! I don't mind internals too much - I used to hate them before I had my kids but after that they didn't bother me so much but then again I haven't had to endure as many as you have. I had another epidural a few weeks ago and am due to have another in July - the doctor said he would understand if I couldn't face anymore as where they have to inject is very awkward and he thinks it is much harder to endure than an ordinary epidural but hey if it works even for a few days it is entirely worth the discomfort of what I have to go through to achieve it! xxx

I really feel for you, and I am sorry that you have to suffer so much. Mine has all come through childbirth, it gets me down what has happened to my body through having children. It is only when I get these appointments that I think about it a lot, the rest of the time I bury it and forget about it and just pretend that the pain is nothing. I am glad that you will be free of pain for a while longer xx

Well I worry about yopu and feel bad about your pain too - so there! Seriously though I am thinking of you and know it will be okay. I know this sounds so pathetic but I guess the kids are worth it all aren't they? Knew you would be nodding , then shaking your head but you really mean it when you nod! lol xxx

Oh poor you I can understand where you are coming from on the doctors recognising you more from that end rather than your facial features, one of the joys of being a woman eh! I have no impending appointments and the last one I had that I wasn't looking forward to was a mammorgram as I hadn't had one before and didn't really know what to expect and also as I had a lump I was concerned. Luckily all was well. Good luck for the 30th. Ellie :D

Hello, I can understand totally why you don't want to go. I hate those kind of appointments too with a passion. Dosn't matter how many times you have them, they are always uncomfortable. My last appointment was when I was at the doctors a couple of weeks ago I was getting my eyes checked as they were sensitive to the sun and light, they are okay now luckily. Think it was mainly due to lack of sleep. Good luck with your appointment, it will be over soon, best to get it over and done with.

I'm sorry your going through this. Do you get dr anxious? I've been dealing with disc problems in my back, and I'm starting to hate those visits because they seem to be a bunch of bs. Because they want to try all this crap, and I want to cut to the point. I know they are doing the right thing. But it gets old. Good luck dear your in my thoughts!

I don't think it is so much dr anxious as the indignity of being examined. I should be used to it by now the amount of internals I have had but I just get so fed up of it. When I do not have to think about these appointments I can pretend the world is totally happy and my life is great, the hospital reminds me that in fact for my age I am in poor health in certain aspects. The whole thing then gets me down. Thanks for thinking of me xx
