If so, how do they tolerate it? Take lightly or seriously? What is your experience?

When teasing someone, I always do it with a smile. My father was a great "tease", which he always did with a straight face. I would usually take him seriously. When I'd cry, I'd be belittled for not being able to take a joke. By the time I reached my teens, I stopped crying, at least in his presence. I still thought he at least halfway meant what he said and developed a serious inferiority complex.

I do make some times but will make sure it do not go out of control. I have been made fun by others and vice versa and i feel its an emberrasing situation. We should not hurt any one.

My teacher, my friend and I have making fun of another teacher before,
until the whole school's teacher and student also.
Cause my teacher and friend both have same surname/last name,
and their face look similar,
so we said that the teacher is my friend's brother,
and my teacher also accept it.
Until at last everyone in school also thought that the teacher is brother of my friend,
and another teacher who found this feel angry and let everyone know.
At least we didn't feel anything special,
and the headmaster feel funny too.

I don't think I'm that kind of person. I would say I'm an introvert person and not likely to do such things. And they usually know this by the first time they meet me and likely not to do those things to me as well. But when I have been very close to that person (a.k.a best friend) I can laugh with him/her and if they do make fun of me I will just regard it as a joke.
