Welfare, Government Assistance

I think its a misconception that there are so many people taking advantage of the welfare system. Its a tactic so you dont realize the amount the government spends on things likes toilet seats. And people are not getting large amounts of money from the welfare system. Anyone taking advantage of it would still be living way below the poverty level. And you do have to prove that you are eligible for welfare. Its not just given out at the drop of a hat. As proven by the first poster. And sometimes people do need it. I feel its very helpful to those who do need it. And with the term limits now placed on it, its much harder to abuse the welfare system. And why isnt anything being said about all of the businesses and agencies that receive government assistance. Thats welfare also. The abuses perpetrated by them are never explored. Or the way the government wastes our money overpaying for everything. But thats never explored either. So why do people feel that wlefare and the way individuals use the money their concern. But not the way it is used by businesses and the government.
