A dream with a meaning?

I have been mulling this dream over in my head for a few days, I would like my friends opinion on it. I need to tell you a story first before I get to the dream. Bare with me!
In the late 90s I was working as a care assistant in a nursing home, I ran my own unit with my own small set of residents, these residents could take care of themselves still to a huge degree but were on the first steps to Alzheimers or Dementia. One new resident that came to join me was a lovely lady called Florence, or Flo for short, I used to call her Flossie or Flossabella.
We hit it off from the first and she was a huge character and we had such fun, events in my life had been in turmoil and my life outside work was building up to a crescendo of drama that had been unfolding since I was 15 and so eventually when it all fell apart I had to leave my job as Care Assistant. I went back and visited Flo a few times, it was really sad as with each visit she would have become a little worse and one of the last visits I paid she had been moved to another unit. She could no longer take care of herself and was losing her memory more and more, it was really sad and she did not remember who I was, so I never went back.
So now to the dream, in my dream flossie came to me and she looked just how she did when I first met her, in fact she was glowing and looked younger. She was really happy and told me that she was OK now, that everything was OK. She told me that I had looked after her really well and that she loved me and that I had made her better. She told me that she was with her husband now and that things were back to how they used to be and that it was all lovely. I woke up feeling really happy that she was well again and that she had her life back, but then remembered that she had a progressive illness that you cannot recover from.
Do you think that maybe she has passed on and was just coming back to tell me she was OK because of the bond we had?
Or do you think that subconsciously she had been in my mind and so I just dreamed about her?

I think either or a combination of both are very real possibilities here gemini honey! I would say though that my heart immediately thought her spirit was trying to say thank you and let you know she was now free from this awful illness and was happy - I guess she appeared as you first knew her as that is how she knew you would recognise her best. you know if you really wanted you could make enquiries about her but i think I would just be happy knowing i made a difference in a ladies life when she was at a very vulnerable stage. Everyone told me to make enquiries, I think I was just a bit scared to do so. But I have now, and I will tell you the results later when I can concentrate on it all better! xx

Who knows what goes on in our minds when the conscious mind is turned off? They say that the mind is composed of three different layers, conscious, subconscious and super-conscious. Each layer has a doorway to the next and the doorway can be opened when the one controlling layer is relaxed as when we sleep and our conscious mind is not so much in control then we slip into the subconscious mind where we have more freedom to go where we pleased. Who knows if we all meet, mix and gather in our subconscious mind which is what I think happened between you and Flossie. You met in your subconscious minds where she related to you what you meant to her and she assured you that she is indeed better and reunited with her husband. Without the body and its ailments, the mind is free to be what it really is, unfettered by bodily (physical) constraints and having different rules. Who knows?

it sounds to me like she was reaching out to you to tell
you she was in a better place and she was happy so
you would not worry about her. these things do happen oftener
than p eople realize and it is a message from heaven
to earth and wonderful to receive too.

For my part,I'm in favor of the latter opinion.You care much about her,do you?You hope she would be OK,right?So much time has passed,you may forget her seemingly,but you subconsciousness may not,and eventually,she came into your mind by a dream.

I have to think that maybe, both of you are thinking of each other, is there a way that you can communicate with her or her family to ask how is she? You've had a wonderful companionship and for sure, she is also thinking of you and maybe wishing to see you!

Oh wow..this is really incredible gemini_rose. My impression to be honest? since as you indicate, that the two of you hit it off so well, I really do think it might be an indication that she did pass on and was "visiting" you in your dream to let you know she was all right and that she was happy again and in no more pain.
