I grew up in Oklahoma. We had hail storms all the time and dents were a big problem. It is to my understanding that you place the ice on the dent and it causes a reaction of the dent popping out or correcting itself. One winter I got a dent in the side of my car. The weather continued to stay in the sub zero range and the dent popped out. I sure felt lucky over that one!

When water is chilled it expands, but when metal is chilled it shrinks and when its heated it expands. The way dry ice works is that it pulls the metal tight thus pulling the dent out. This method is not always successful and can be harmful to the paint. The method most dent repair companies do is working the dent up from below using metal rods and working the area to make it flush. To make it visible for repair many will use flourescant bulbs and put black pinstriping on the bulbs and this creates a image on the paint job. You can view this image and look for the pinstripping being wavy which shows the dent is not yet a smooth surface.

I dont know anything about that. You might want to call an autobody shop. what is dry ice supposed to do? It doesn't sound like it work to me.
