I am suffering from insomnia, i guess. Because, i can't sleep every night. Even though, i'm sleepy but, it's hard to sleep. I haven't been to a doctor for a check up, i have many things to do, like taking care with the kids. I don't have time to visit a specialist. How you guys deal with this kind of situation that you are sleepy but, it's hard to sleep. I tried to think or imagine something that could make me sleep, but, it's no use. :)

Read enough boring stuff on the web and you will want to sleep, personally my last ditch effort it to read a book. No matter how good it will always work after the second page.

I've suffered from insomnia for years, and found the perfect solution. I have a little radio which I plug into my ears when I go to bed - on a talkback channel which has quizzes, etc. I usually fall asleep because I WANT to stay awake to listen - and even though I still tend to wake up several times during the night, listening to the chat helps a lot, and when you are trying to stay awake to hear the end of a story, etc., you find you'll then doze off easily!

I have insomnia also.A lot of times it is caused by stress.Lavender and chamomile helps alot.I found that drinking sleepytime tea just as your getting ready to go to bed will help you relax and sleep better.Spray lavender scented linen spray on your pillow case and burn lavender scented candle's in your room will help.I also listen to relaxing sounds. To me the night sounds of crickets or rain relax me.

I've been suffering with this for months now but I'm really really trying hard to fight this. I think I'm succeeding. I go to bed before 12 mn, 1 am the latest and wake up exactly 8-9 hours later. I drag myself out of bed if I can't get up. I drink milk instead of coffee at night. It's helping actually.

the best way to fight insomnia is to decrease your stress level.. dont get yourself too tired during the day. and before sleeping, you can have a good warm shower, drink a glass of milk, and make your bed your sleeping place so that everytime you see your bed it stimulates sleeping.. and while lying, try to get rid of thoughts that worries you.. and have a good night sleep my dear!

I have a somewhat unique way of dealing with insomnia. I work third shift and work during the day. I know this isn't an option for everyone, but it works for me. I had trouble sleeping for years, so figured why not work third shift? I have slept better than I ever have before since I started working this shift.

Hi There, This can be msot distressing! To not be able to sleep is very frustrating and really effects how you function during the day. I too have had this problem on a number of occasions. I have tried nearly everything under the sun to try to fix the problem. However, the only thing that has ever worked for me is to workout like crazy during the day. I just basically physically exhaust myself. Then by the time it is night I pass out like a light. cheers,

I struggle with insomnia too from time to time. I really don't have any answers though. It usually happens to me when i can't shut my mind down. It just keeps going and thinking analyzing things that have happened. When it happens it try my best to clear my mind and not think of anything. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't work i will try putting the tv on a very low volume so that i can just barely hear it and see if that helps.
