I ask this Q because I hav always beleived that as long as we are humans, we are the same and should be one another's keeper. Recently, CNN showed an elderly man who shot a buggler from the window of his house in his neighbour's house. the Q was did the man rob in his house, why did he take that violent action. The man's defense in court was that it was his neighbour's house he was defending. And I began to wonder. This Q is particularly sparked off by what I watched in Fox News yesterday 6/6/08 where a hit and run driver left his dying victim for dead. All the passersby watched the man groaning for help and nobody assisted him until a police vehicle in another assignment, arrived about 10 mins later and assisted the man. Guess what, as a result of that delay, the man is now fully paralysed and still in hospital as I write. Is this humanity? Where is the good samaritan spirit in the world. Can humanity exist without love? Even wild animals in the bush still show some care and concern to their comrades in the jungle when the hunter's gun penetrate the shrubs. Where is Love? Where is Humantity? Please talk to me.

Love is a part of being humane ,it is a icing on a cake .The problem with us is, we are more defined in the way we shower our love towards others .We seemed to be more self-centered even when showing love to someone. There is no one to blame but the system and life styles we have spawned in the name of perfection over the years .God save HUMANITY !

Thank u very much for your honesty. but u are a part and parcel of the system. don't u think that as the saying goes a drop of water makes the mighty ocean is true if one of us be the one to kickstart humanity again? would u for instance act the way those passersby acted?

I think part of the problem is there is so much violence in the world that we are raised to not get involved. We are taught that everyone's problems are theirs to deal with. I have raised my children to not get involved with things that do not concern them but I have told them to call the police in emergency situations be it a fight or someone that is hurt. There are still good people out there and people willing to go out on a limb to help others but they are a rare bred in today's society. I know the world would be a better place if we did help one another out but I have found that too many people use others, sue anyone they can for a buck, think the world owes them something, will kill you for helping them out, and a wide variety of other things. Those stories are more on the news than the ones who have hero's who risk life and limb to help out their fellow man. I have delt with more selfish people than I care to. eventually we give up and start caring for our own more than the others out there we can't trust.
