I just hate stepping out of the house

I do!! I don't feel like going out, even to the market, bank, or other absolutely necessary places. Is something wrong with me? Once upon a time, I hated being at home. But now, home is everything to me. I feel everything I have or need is here, and oh, how I hate getting up and dressing up and getting out of the gate. Is there anybody who feels like this? I hope nothing is wrong with me or something.

Do you feel depressed? Do you not want to be around anyone? Those might be signs of depression? I am the same way though. I am happy and I like being around people most of the time. I just don't like going out of the house to do it. I hate shopping at stores like wal mart. I hate dealing with the traffic. I am a house wife and I don't want to go to work. I sometimes want to because I like making money and feel bad for my husband for having to work so hard to take care of us. He don't want me to work and I love being here to greet my children after school and have his diner waiting on him with a kiss when he gets home. I wear my pjs all day as I also hate getting dressed. I think if I am not mistaken we kind of feel the same way. As long as you are not having lonely feelings, pushing others out of your life, and feelings of depression I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying staying in your house and not wanting to leave.

Nah, there's nothing wrong with wanting to stay home. Home is our refuge, our shelter. Every once in a while I feel the need to go out and see if anyone still exists outside of my little patch, but it doesn't happen often. I have everything I need at home.

Na nothing wrong. I can get the same way if I am in the house for long periods of time. I can get to be quite the homebody. The thing is I enjoy my home, and I never tire of my own company. I find dozens of thing to keep me busy and happy. I work mostly from home at the minute but I do have a shop that I work out of as well. I babysit grand kids and they keep me out of doors. But I can see myself content as an old fat cat and never wondering to far from my home.

I'm the same way. And I wonder the same thing about myself. Is there something wrong with me? No, I don't think so. I love my home and I want to make it even more attractive to myself. I could be a total hermit with not much of a problem.

No there is nothing wrong with wanting to just stay home and not go no where ever well maybe to work and to get things you need but that's it for I am like this. I go to my full time job every night and when I come home I stay put and don't like to go anywhere unless I really have to. I'd rather be home for this is where I like to be is here. I have more fun here being on my computer and doing what ever else it is I choose to do. If being home is what you like to do best then do it for It's what I like to do also enjoy take care.

I can see there is nothing wrong at all if you choose not to go outside the house. I also love to do that but when I got bored I just go out and walking to get fresh air and I come back inside the house. I love the feeling of having everything in the house that makes us to stay in the house.

I think that you are very much O.K. Today that everything you can do from your home there is no need to go out.I feel the same from the day that I'm owner, but sometime there is aneed to solve something outside.

my husband used to be that way and the mental health worker called it a phobia, it was as if the moment he would go out the door he was afraid.it is similar to panic disorder and you should seek some mental counseling by a physcologist to get around it, otherwise you will be isolated in your own home and its just not' healthy.it can be cured but you have to get some help.

Nups, no social phobia here coz I go out to the market and bargain for fish, I go to the bank and keep my finances in order, I even go out once in a while to take an interview for a newspaper. A person with social phobia can't do that. I am simply overcome by an overwhelming love of home, garden, pets, and all other home-related stuff (my laptop) :) Cheers and thanks so much for the response.

Absolutely nothing wrong! I don't like to step out of my house too, unless its visiting my grandparents. It's very much of a hassle going out like you said, dressing up, packing stuffs. Most importantly... every trip out means I have to spend money, be it on transport, food, shopping! Makes it hard for me to save up with all those "temptations"

Well, keeping away from friends won't cure you of depression. If you want a nine-to-five job, you have to just leave home and search for one. You have to prepare a resume, attend interviews, and so on. :) Or you could try for a work at home position. You are only 26, according to your profile. So you have several years ahead of you. Enjoy! I wish you all the best!

hi friend Its not wrong with you for not going out. There should definetely be some reason for u in doing so. In the past you would have experienced something bad,so,you must be behaving like that.first go and correct your self in where you got effected. Its not wrong to be in home if you are engaged in some work at home.....so, my friend go and sit cooly and recollect where you did wrong or what happened in the past, that itself will give you the answer for your question

I used to be so bored at home. I always wanted to be out partying with my friends. Sometimes I wouldn't come home for days. And if I did have to be home I was happier if my house was stuffed to the gills with friends. All I wanted to do was party. But that was back before I had a garden and a computer! Now the only reason that I go anywhere, other than on my walks through the woods, is to go shopping. And when people come to my house and we are drinking and partying I have fun for a little while but then I can hardly wait for them to leave so I can have my peace and quiet back.

I don't think there is anything wrong with you, as I find myself much the same. When I was a teen and even a young adult I enjoyed going places very much. Now, I look more forward to coming back home than going.
