Parents, warn your children not to "play dead"!

Parents, please always watch your children while playing.....
I feel so sad for this child, the son of my husband's teammate.
He died while he was playing "dead" with his younger sibling. He was acting like he's hanging himself, until an accident happened, the string's knot won't let go and he was choked to death, and the poor younger sibling didn't know that it's for real already.
He was only ten, and a promising soccer player like his father. May he rest in peace.

That is a tragic way to lose a child. You are right, parents should always be watching and know what their children are doing. Obviously a 10 year old does not understand the danger of pretending to hang himself and his friends cannot be blamed for not realizing what was really happening.
A very sad story, I think the father will always feel really bad about how he lost his son.

Yes, a 10 year-old wouldn't know the danger of pretensions like what he did, he will never know. I feel so sad for him and his family.
I have lost a daughter too, I know how it feels, though it was a different situation.
I immediately warned my children to be play carefully, after I learned the tragic accident.

Oh my goodness how horrible. You know you would just not think that you would have to teach or warn against something like this. I cannot imagine what that has to be like for that family.

It was really sad to learn about it. I also lost a daughter, but she was only 2 months old then, I know how it feels.
And to think that he was only playing to entertain his younger sibling. It was really very tragic.
