While rummaging my old diaries, I found this one taken down in a class room lecture and I found it interesting to share with my mylotians here.
Resolve to be tender with the young
Compassionate with the aged,
Sympathetic with the striving and
Tolerant of the weak and wrong
In the present day busy ruffle and shuffle, we hardly care for others, because we need someone to take care of us. But when you really sit down at home and think of people who need our help in smallest way, how much we respond?

Hi ssh123! Those are really great words and something that we really have to ponder on. I have observed too in so many people whom I have talked with and shared so much of my life with. People always have compassionate words to say, kind words and gentle advice to give but if they will have to really give much more than their words, I have found only a few who are willing to give more. It is a very sad realization on my part. I have experienced this. When I was in the peak of my success, so many people came to me..asking for help, for advice, for money, for my time, for my understanding, for forgiveness and for my assistance in so many ways. I have given it all unselfishly and without asking anything in return. My father caution me on this and so did my husband. When the time came that we went bankrupt, those people whom we have helped turn their backs on us..and it hurts. There were kind words that were sent our way but those were all empty words. However, I am still blessed, I still have my husband and family to hold my hand. And now, I am still trying to pick up the pieces with my husband and my family. We have nothing but we have each other. And we know that whatever happens, our words will never be empty. We will always be there for each other even in the smallest way.
Take care and God bless!

You are so right. The excerpt is so insightful, I would only replace the expression ' sympathetic' with 'empathetic'.
Today we are living on the edge. No time to pause, look back or extend a helping hand or even a nice gesture. It doesn't cost us anything but we are getting so busy. But for what? Only getting busy only to die early?
