Starting Monday, I am going to try and read one book (novel) a week, because as the college year as gone on I have read less and less, only reading the book "Enduring Love" as I was studying it for English. I used to love reading.
So does anyone want to join me, we can exchange what books we are reading and our opinions on the book as well as keeping one another reading.

I like your idea! I will gladly join the bookclub. I will start reading Sahara by Michael Palin on Monday. Then I'll get back here and let you know about it. With a bit of luck this can turn into a very interesting thread. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks, I think that I am going to read "The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole" by "Sue Townsend" but that might change.

I have heard that it is good too, but even thought I have had it on my book shelf for years I have yet to get round to reading it.

That is a lot of books, I would struggle to find books to read. I am going to search the internet for cheap places to buy / trade books as I have read or don't want to read all the books that I have.

Well I'm back to give my report. Like I promised last week.
I've read Sahara by Michael Palin. Before I tell you about it I want to mention that it was kinda hard to find this discussion back. I'd forgotten what it was called and under discussions I tried several things but didn't get very far. I finally had to run a search on my mylot folder for adrian mole to get the correct link to this discussion. In short it was a really big PITA and I for one was far from amused.
Well now that is out of the we can go on to the book review. Sahara is about as dusty as the desert itself. Although Michael can write very well somehow this book just isn't doing it for me. I suppose one could say that the pictures in it are the best part of the book. There are a few feeble moments of almost humorous incidents.
I would suppose, of course, that if viewed as a travel journal it has been done to perfection. But there's a reason why I don't read that type of book in general and the reason is simply because they are...boring! Oh okay maybe the one exception I could make is Steinbeck with the dog. Anyway I made an exception for Palin because the series was good and I expected to be able to laugh along the way. Besides a feeble grin every once in a while they were soon forgotten as my brain felt as dusty as the roads that were travelled in that book.
I would recommend reading it. Just don't expect it to be funny and it will be fine.

I understand that trying to find the discussion will be hard, but I can't think of another way to do it. Maybe putting this thread in your bookmarks would be useful.
Although you advice reading the book, I doubt I will as the review is rather negative.
